Weighline Rail Scale Installation Track prior to the scale installation. The new scale! Existing section removed. Rail bed is tightly compacted. Ties installed in required configuration. The scale installation begins. Note: position of orange stripes on blue rails in relation to tie spacing! The orange mark identifies the centerline of each load cell. Rail scale sections are in place, rail tie plates can now be installed. Scale is now an integral part of the existing track. Load cell cables are installed. (sheathed in flexible conduit) Final adjustments are made. Track stiffeners are installed. Scale is tested and verified. Scale is ready for calibration
