My edge Born in Venezuela, and having lived in Caracas, São Paulo, London and Barcelona, David is an international marketing and communications professional with engineering background and mindset, while with a marketing career. He has experience in multicultural environments in medium-large organizations (P&G, J&J, Novartis and currently Eckes-Granini) and in diverse businesses: FMCG, Personal Care, Pharma and Beverages. Passionate about diversity, international training and coaching, he is an amateur runner of 10K competitions.

My edge is the point where I feel butterflies in my stomach, where my mind is challenged and my heart bumps out of my chest. At my 30 years, life for me is about the excitement of living every day, of discovering new things about the world and about myself. There has been just one constant in my life, and that is learning and growth, that’s what makes my journey exciting. I’ve always consider myself to be a dreamer, and that’s what I live upon. I build beautiful stories in my mind which activate my body to act and make them real... and then I move on to the next dream.

Starting at weHOST, I will offer you both my optimistic and my challenging energies. I’ll be fully open so you can get to know me as a professional and as a human being, as I expect to get to know you. I’ll bring the chaordic structure to set the environment for us to grow together, and I’ll bring all my passion and inspiration to build a strong network of beautiful individuals.

My edge Co-Founder of Beautiful Individuals (www.BEAUTIFULindividuals.com), Amalia is a 27 years old Romanian in a continuous search and discovery of herself. In her career path she took opportunities in very diverse range of areas (banking, consulting, marketing, finance and training), and even if her background is Economy with Business Administration profile, she is looking forward to working with people rather than numbers, one of the reasons why she is currently finishing her course to be certified as Coach by the ICF (International Coaching Federation). She has been living in Portugal for more than 3 years and a half, currently residing in Lisbon, and she is very proud of her 3 months living experience in India.

MYSELF is my only edge. I have read, I have been told, I saw, I believe that we, as human beings, are capable of doing anything that we want. And I know that I AM capable of doing anything that I want. But I do get stuck in emotional states, mental vicious circles and unreal barriers and I know is just a matter of finding the resources inside of me to break through, have a different perspective and see further. I don’t expect anything from life as I am trusting her wisdom and I know that whatever she gives me is because I needed it at that specific moment in time, and I am grateful for that. I do dream of a better world, and my vision of a better world is made out of better individuals and is here where I want to have a contribution. Supporting the development of others and developing MYSELF.

My edge JB is a 28 years-old Venezuelan guy living in Barcelona - Spain - for the last three years. He graduated from Architecture in Venezuela and more recently he studied Coolhunting and Branding in Spain. In his five years of experience in Marketing, Branding and Communication he has worked for companies such as P&G and Hewlett Packard, as well as in the development and management of creative projects for other international clients like Coca-Cola, Kraft and Kellogg's. He is a Beautiful Individuals Fellow (www.BEAUTIFULindividuals.com). Some of his other personal interests include: cooking, photography, travelling and languages.

At this point in my life I can only say that I’m in a deep personal process of reconstruction and transformation... and I'm enjoying it VERY much. Over the last months a collision of vital changes drove to me a point out of my comfort zone from which I had to start redefining myself. I still am! This has helped me discovery and explore things I was not being able to see. And by doing so I have grown stronger by facing myself, others and life. When it comes to the path I'm walking on right now I trust that, by keeping moving forward, dots will connect. I believe that by doing so we build our individualities, those that makes us unique and irreplaceable. I dream of sharing my delight for art, food and making people feel at home.

My edge Petroula is 28 years old, originally Greek and the third and youngest child of her family. She was born, raised and studied in Athens, but since then has been living abroad, first in The Netherlands and now in Switzerland. She was a member of AIESEC from 2000-2007, and worked with Dey at the AIESEC International teams for two years. Since then, she worked in the banking industry in Switzerland and for one and a half years now she is working and studying part time. Her passion is Education and that’s where she is focusing all her strength and heart at the moment.

My dream is that one day everyone will pass through an education system that not only gives them the skills, but also the quality of character that the world needs right now. I expect and wish for life to surprise me and challenge me every day, so that I challenge myself and learn... I am a person that believes in Sir Ken Robinson's theory, that each one of us has a unique element that distinguishes us from other people; our element is located where our passion and our talent meet! Imagine how the world would be if all of us would know our element and lead our lives through it... AMAZING!

I promise to bring myself; my experiences in a professional and personal level but also expect to learn from each one of the participants. My edge Rui is a 26 year old computer geek now turned marketeer, currently working at Vodafone Portugal, who loves music, design, usability, interaction design and playing basketball whenever he finds the time to. He was born in Coimbra, Portugal, and after a short while studying and working in Sweden, returned to Portugal to work in programming, usability and communication. Rui is currently living in Lisbon, for about two years now, and loving every bit of it.

I feel my edge when I am living outside myself, in doing things I usually don’t, in getting out of my comfort zone. While doing so, I find new parts of me, new fuel for growth and new opportunities to fail. That’s maybe why I’ve been, both professionally and personally, doing different things in many different fields, and still not feeling really fulfilled; and that’s why I immediately accepted the invitation of “edging” weHOST – something that excites me as much as it frightens me. My biggest fear is that one day I’ll accommodate.

I promise to be there to listen, to share and to host. I won’t be equipped with any superior knowledge. Instead, I will try to create a different space we can all call home, where conversations flow and collaborative insights grow. I’ll trust the power of good questions.

Former Local Committee President of one Local Chapter of AIESEC in Portugal and with experience in international environments, being the longest one a couple of traineeships in Ukraine, he is always ready to help you through your experience.

I always expect from life an experience and not just a journey... I dream about something and then I go after it... My life experience grows in me. At this moment I’m going through a very challenging work experience part of a dream that I have been chasing.

My edge At his 37 years, Dey describes himself as a poet of breathes, a writer of unreadable stories, a green freak, a singer of silent songs, a warrior of passion, a lover without lover, a multicultural cook, a life worshiper, a prophet of beauty, a designer of concepts and a popcorn machine. At the end, a beautiful individual; as he also puts it, aren’t we all? Originally from Venezuela and currently living in Lisbon, Dey has visited 75 countries and currently dedicates himself to freelance in a diverse range of adventures that engage and involve his strong global tribe of followers and that keep his life exciting and in a constant state of discovery, such as weHOST.

I get inspired with innovation, with creative breakthroughs. As such, I am always on the search of the avant-garde trends, as a cool hunter. That’s what I call to be an EDGEr! Searching for those trends and finding them is like surfing the waves, exciting and powerful; then you can imagine how much I enjoy when instead of surfing them, I create those waves! One of my areas of expertise and passion is to get myself, and the people I work with, into the mainstream of what is edgy and ‘incoming’ - ‘current’ is already dated! I don’t clearly remember where or when the expression of ‘popcorning’ was born; it’s just important that since then it has been with me as a crucial part of how I can explain the process that happens in my body and mind when new ideas pop-up; that’s why I call myself a ‘popcorn machine’, and there is where my edge lays.

As part of the enriching process of visiting over 70 countries, I’ve learned to listen; to listen with my whole Self and not just with my ears and my brain. I will be bringing my listening to weHOST. And, if you feel stuck in old paradigms, heavy and outdated versions or yourself, 90ish self-image and personal brand, and cheesy stories to tell, I am sure that after a conversation with me you will feel that effervescent sensation of whom has found an exciting way to move ahead!
