The Spiritual Cinema Circle acquisitions team
handpicks the most enriching, uplifting and
inspiring movies to pass along. Each one is a
movie with a story that matters. Stories that
remind us about what it means to be human.
That explore new possibilities. That help us
understand more of the world around us.
The Week In Review
Sunday was Rally Sunday, the start of our fall season of programming, and we started
with an intergenerational service. Not only were the Sunday School staff and children in
the sanctuary throughout the service, but they also took leadership roles by ushering and
taking up the offering. Sunday School teachers and helpers were commissioned and
blessed, and students of all ages had their backpacks blessed.
Instead of a sermon, Pastor Loretta gave several short messages based on the day’s
scripture readings. The messages included ‘How to Welcome’ (based on Matthew
25:31-40), ‘How to Inherit a Blessing’ (based on 1 Peter 3:8-9), and ‘What Time Is
It?’ (based on Romans 12:11-12, 13:11-12).
Islay-May and guest musician Eric G led us in singing four new worship songs; the
children arranged new foam tiles in the play area at the back of the worship space.
After worship, we enjoyed a Texas BBQ lunch, topped off with ice cream cones for dessert. Thanks to Pas-
tor Loretta for preparing the BBQ beef, and to all who brought salads, baked beans, buns, and assorted
other food contributions. Thanks as well to those who were involved in preparation and in clean-up.
We are off to a great start for our very busy fall season!

season. Envelopes will be available at the
back of the church - ask an usher for one.
As in previous years, if there is more money collected for
Thanksgiving flowers than is necessary, the extra money
will be used for Christmas flowers (poinsettias).

As well, many beds have been planted with
