Weekly Wrap-Up Newsletter The weekly wrap- up newsletter is a platform for staff to be updated on the happenings in all PIUs
and PMU on the progress of projects CAUSE implemented in various communities but also a space of
interaction between staff and management.
Nusatupe quarantine site in progress
The quarantine Centre in Nusatupe of Gizo is progressing well ahead of the estimated time frame which is next month. Work still going on.
• Accommodation upgrade are on schedule.
• Guardhouse completed with works on its toilet and septic tank on-going
• 220 m of the 340 meters perimeter fencing completed
• Jetty piling completed waiting for concreting Update Noro quarantine centre
The Noro quarantine centre is almost complete. Below is the remaining work of the centre.
• The remaining works of Tiling nearing 70%
• Guard house - 100% with new Toilet
• Fencing - 100%
The full completion of the tiling will be in two weeks time.

News/ Announcements
1. Solomon Airlines has today announced a further two-month extension of the suspension of all scheduled international passenger flights, to 10 January
2021.
2. Government will possibly turn to Air Niugini for the next repatriation flight for students from the Philippines.
3. The National Government’s plan to build a patrol boat base at Shortland Island in the Western Province has moved another step closer following the sign-
ing of a joint resolution to allow the project to proceed.
Veraboli footpath update
Resumption work on the Veraboli school footpath of Guadalcanal has re-
sumed. Currently the local workers are working on foam works and soon to
do concrete mixing on site. Materials has reached the site and expect some
changes in the coming days.
Juniper school footpath update
Work on Juniper school footpath has resumed. This week load of bags cement
has been delivered on site. Construction of completing the last sections is
progressing well and expect full completion of the project in the coming weeks.
Choviri drain improvement
Work on road restoration and drainage improvement at Choviri is progress-
ing well. There are few more works to be done and it should be fully complet-
ed. Already residents of the community are smiling after they learnt of the
new improvement .
Upgrading of Kombivatu-Feraladoa-Ferakusia-Matariu Road
The upgrading of Kombivatu-Feraladoa-Ferakusia-Matariu roads are pro-
gressing well. So far work has reached 55% job done. Work still going on and
expect to complete the concrete slabbing by the end of the month.
New staff
Honiara PMU has completed the recruitment
process for finance admin clerk. Ms. Christina
Rago is the successful candidate, she has
started work with us since yesterday. Prior to
her appointment Christian has been worked
for Oxfam Solomon Islands as Finance Coor-
dinator. Let us welcome and support her in
her new role.
