49rs @ Falcons Falcons are now 3-1 and the 49rs remain winless af-ter the Falcons capitalize on a pair of 1st half inter-ceptions by SF QB Alex Smith, and a game endingFG by ATLs Matt Bryant. 49rs had an early 14 -0lead when Taylor Mays scored a TD with a puntblock.

Jets @ BillsLaDanian Tomlinson has a record breaking day, and leadsthe Jets to a brutal victory over the bumbling, ineffectiveBills. Sanchez connected for 2TDs, Brad Smith connectedfor 1TD and two TD runs by LT brought the Jets to a blis-tering win. Three of their scores were within a 3.5 minutetimeframe. BUF QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was the teams toprusher.

Bengals @ Browns A 10 catch, 222 yard game by T.O was not enoughfor the Bengals to stop the Browns who have wontheir 1st game for the season. CIN QB CarsonPalmer was 25-36 for 371 yds and 2 TDs, one of them a 78 yd to TO for his career record.

Lions @ PackersThe Lions proved themselves contenders in an unsatisfy-ing loss to Green Bay, who showed weaknesses in theiroffense. GB QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 181 yds with 3TDs and 2 INT. Lions QB Shaun Hill was in for injured MattStafford, and was calm in the tough game, where the Lionsfaced 13 penalties.

Broncos @ TitansQB Kyle Orton was on fire as Denver, completing 35 of 50passes for 341 yds and two touchdowns, showing that Den-

ver who had a pitiful 19 yards to their rushing game canrely on him when all else fails. The Titans sacked him sixtimes, but their offense was held to almost ineffectivenessin the first half.

Seahawks @ RamsSteven Jackson played hurt but played well combined

with an effective game by Sam Bradford, to bring theRams to their first consecutive victory in two seasons. TheRams sacked Seahawk QB Matt Hasselbeck 4 times, andnegated any presence by Leon Washington or GoldenTate.

Panthers @ SaintsNewcomer Kicker John Carney stepped in for GarrettHartley who missed a critical FG in the last seconds of New Orleans loss last week, and knocked it through theuprights three times, a combined effort with a bandagedDrew Brees, to lead the Saints to a victory over the Pan-thers.Jimmy Clausen impressed with a critical 4th downconversion, but progress was ended by a sack.

Ravens @ SteelersSteelers were pretty sure they had a 4-0 startlocked in when a surprise pump fake from Flaccoallowed the Ravens to score a game winning TD inthe final seconds of the game. Flacco remainedcalm during the game, Steelers go to bye next

week, Ben Roethlisberger to play week 6 against the Browns.

Texans @ Raiders Arian Foster dominated the field, scoring two TDs with 16carries, and 131 yds rushing and 56 yds receiving. MattSchaub broke the franchise record with his 60th TD. TheRaiders tacked on 10 points in the last QTR but it wasn'tenough to break the Texans hold on victory.

Colts @ JaguarsDavid Garrard, Maurice Jones Drew and David Scobeeeach had a part in the Jaguars upset victory over theColts. Garrard was 17 of 22 for 163 and 2 TD, Maurice

Jones Drew caught one of those TDs and ran in anotherone, and David Scobee kicked a legendary 59 yd FG inthe last seconds to win the game for the Jags.

Redskins @ EaglesDonovan McNabb headed home to Philly in a Redskins

jersey, was greeted with a standing ovation, and then wasstuck handing the ball off over and over again in the Red-skins defeat of the Eagles. Mike Vick was injured in the 1stQTR and a lackluster performance by Kevin Kolb left theEagles winless at home.

Cardinals @ ChargersThe Bolts were numerous in sacks (9) and in points (41)after dominating the Cardinals at home in San Diego. Ari-zona would only have a total of 124 yards for the entiregame, and would score only once on a fumble return inthe beginning of the 2nd QTR.

Bears @ Giants Jay Cutler will have a headache tomorrow, leaving thegame in the first half after being sacked nine times by theGiants defense and earning himself a concussion. TheBears were useless against the pass rush, and the Giantsthough not perfect on offense, did not turn the ball over.

    Patriots @ Dolphins

Today was one of the most interesting football Sundays that Ive seen ina while, a few upsets, a few blunders, a few unexpected winners, andtwo undefeated teams humbled. This leaves only the Kansas CityChiefs as the only undefeated team in the National Football League. Idon't think anyone, not even the Chiefs themselves could have pre-dicted this, but they rest for their bye this week and go against the In-dianapolis Colts who will be nursing wounds from their last-secondloss vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chiefs should be in fine healthy

form and the Colts will be ready to prove themselves again, so thatshould be a great game.

Miami, New England, Pittsburg and Seattle have byes next week.

If I could describe this Sunday with just one word I would have to sayentertaining.

It will be interesting to see if the Rams can win again next week andcontinue their streak, as they go up against the still winless Lions, whohave finally started to emerge as contenders. I am also wondering if the Giants win against the Bears tonight was the real deal as they facethe Texans next week. Should be some excellent battles.

Patriots @ Dolphins tonight on ESPN. Most analysts are calling it aneven match, but the Patriots historically dont do so great in that SouthFlorida sunshine. Dont forget to check for your full Monday Recapbright and early Tuesday morning !

    Until next week, J.R.
