South Main Shares…

Happy Birthday Jackie Shaw, David Roberts, Kenneth Sabella, Lara Chenault!!!

Happy Anniversary Joe & Kathy Davis!!!

We’re Moving Back! Next Sunday, February 14th, we will be back into the large auditorium! The room is substantially complete, but there are a few finishing touches that need to be made over the next few weeks. Once we’ve settled in and all the details are finished, we will plan a celebration cere-mony and open house for the public. Teachers: If you are a teacher whose classroom was relocated, please use this week to move back in and set up your new (or, old) permanent location.

Song Books We had several songbooks that were water damaged from the storm. The worst have been thrown away, but, the mildly damaged are stacked on the counter in the HomeFront room for anyone that would like to take one.

Bob’s Thoughts...

New You!

“…Old Things have passed away; behold all things are become new.” ~ I Corinthians 5:17

Many people want a change, and most people wish they could start all over with a whole new beginning. The good news is… you can! But this is only possible through Jesus Christ. He alone makes all things new, and when you become a new creation in Christ, He will make all things new for you. This is the ultimate makeover! However it is only the beginning. Once you become a new creation, you are able to walk in newness of life because of your new life source - Jesus Christ the Lord. New Life is available to you in Christ, and you can start all over again! God’s mercies are new every morning; He is the God of second chances. He offers forgiveness and restoration to all who will seek Him with their whole heart. Be obedient to Christ, and then trust Him with your life. NEW YEAR, NEW YOU, NEW LIFE is yours for the taking in Christ and Christ alone! But you must take it by faith. Faith is simply accepting the abundance of God’s grace that is available to you in Christ. He will empower you to walk in newness of life. Then you will experience the new life that is your heritage in Christ. “But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on His name… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth… And of His fullness have we all received, and grace for grace.” John 1:12, 14, 16

Have a Great Week,

Bob

Open Carry Prohibited As of January 1, 2016, a new law went into effect in Texas that allows holders of handgun licenses to carry them openly. The South Main elders, however, have de-cided to exercise our rights under the law to prohibit open carry of handguns on the church proper ty. We are in the process of ordering the appropriate state mandated signage officially announcing this prohibition. Concealed carry by license holders will continue to be permitted. Thank you for your consideration.
