Faces in Worship you should know: Pastor Jade Yi and Pastor John Hildner

will be helping out in worship. Both Jade and John are between calls and are

active members of Our Saviours. Thanks to both of them for helping in worship.

Pastor John and his wife Cindy, were members of Our Saviour's

for many years and their three children grew up at Our

Saviours. John has served as Pastor at a Lutheran church in

Clarendon Hills and is currently a chaplain at Edward

Hospital. We welcome the Hildners back to Our Saviour's and

thank John for his assistance in worship.

Pastor Jade served at Our Saviour's for over a year as an interim

associate Pastor during the call process for both Pastor John and

Pastor Brian. Pastor Jade is currently doing graduates work at

Wheaton College.

Special Breakfast

Join us on Saturday, January 9, at 7:30 am, for a special breakfast

with guest speaker Pastor Hicham Chehab Pastor Chehab is the

Associate Pastor at Peace Lutheran Church in Lombard, and

leads their Salam Christian Fellowship ministry.

Pastor Hicham Chehab grew up in a world of bitter animosity between Muslims

and Christians, which he experienced personally in a physical attack. He was

recruited by an extremist Muslim group and later fought against Christians in

Lebanon. Come hear how a course of cultural studies (in college), brought him to

faith. Currently, Pastor Hicham, an ordained LCMS minister, is the Associate

Pastor for Salam Christian Fellowship at Peace Lutheran Church in Lombard,

and works as a missionary to the Muslims with the Lutheran Church in Illinois.

We hope you will join us for this special presentation and a wonderful breakfast

hosted and cooked by our Men’s Ministry team.

Men Sing! Lend your voices to our 9th annual Men Sing Epiphany Concert

on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 3:30 pm, at the Our Saviour’s Campus. Our

special guest artist will be Amanda (Cindy) Halgrimson Walzer, a professional

opera singer who has returned to her hometown of Naperville and Our Saviour’s

Lutheran Church after a very successful career in Europe as a leading soprano

soloist in the Deutsche Opera Berlin. The free will offering proceeds will go to the

Feed My Starving Children 2016 Naperville Community Mobilepack to help pay

for the 1,000,000 plus meals to be packed by over 5,000 volunteers in February

2016. Contact Les May for more details and rehearsal times at

[email protected] or 630-235-5925

Who remembers watching this every year at Christmas? See it live this year

with a theater production of A Charlie Brown Christmas put on by our Winter

Theater Camp participants, with a potluck style dinner and caroling through the

neighborhood around the Celebration Campus. Join us for The Youth and Family

Christmas Potluck and Caroling on December 20 from 5:00-8:00pm at the

Celebration Campus. We’ll kick off the night with the dinner and show and we’ll

finish the night by warming up with some hot chocolate and apple cider. Come for all

of the night or part of the night - young and old, ALL are welcome!!

Women of Our Saviors! The annual women's book study is coming, so add our

book to your Christmas wish list. We'll be meeting on Friday, January 29 at 7:00pm,

at the Celebration Campus to discuss Elie Wiesel's book, "The Trial of God.” For

more details, check out Good Reads or Amazon.com. Bring a snack or drink to

share...we hope to see you there!

This group is for those who are making plans or anticipating the needs of elderly

relatives. The purpose of the group is to share stories and support each other in

a "safe haven" environment and to provide caregiving resources. We meet on

the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month in the Temple Room at Our Saviour’s

Campus.

Fear with Courage by Allie Pleiter. This group meets on Tuesday mornings from

us, please contact Chrissy Ball at [email protected].

Delicious Apple Pancakes and Supporting Feed My Starving Children are a

winning combo! As a way to help support the Feed My Starving Children

Mobilepack, the Apple Pancake certificates are back this holiday season. The

Apple Pancake certificates are from Pancake Café and are $12 each. You can

buy the vouchers at either campus, and then redeem when it’s convenient for

you to pick up at Pancake Café. They will be on sale during the weekends of

December 12/13 and December 19/20.

Christmas! Our library is preparing for this joyous season by selecting Advent

and Christmas books for you to check out. We also have DVD’s for you to view

as a family over the holidays. We look forward to your visit!
