President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has reiterated the importance of wresting Taiz back and re-normalizing the situations in the province.

The President statement came during a telephone conversation he received Monday form the governor of Taiz Dr Ameen Ahmed Muhmood.

The governor detailed President Hadi on the process of handing over the government’s institutions located in the eastern square of the city of Taiz . The local resistance leadership handed over the governmental facilities to the official local authority in the province.

President Hadi urged all political and social constituencies in the province of Taiz to join efforts and keep on fighting the Iran-backed Houthi militia until getting all the province cleared of the militiamen and go on renormalizing the situations.

President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received an invitation to participate in the UN summit about Climate Change (COP24) scheduled for next December in Poland.

President Hadi voiced his

pleasure to receive such invitation during his meeting Wednesday with the Polish ambassador to the Saudi capital Riyadh who handed over the invitation to Excellency (HE).

Yemen’s support for the UN’s and International community’s efforts aiming to put Paris Agreement on Climate Change into its effects.

Vice President, the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Ali Mohsen Saleh, met today with a number of commanders of field military units and directors of departments on the importance of coordination and cooperation between them.The Vice President praised the efforts exerted to complete Yemen’s liberation and rebuild the army and its institutions to be prepared for the national undertakings. The Vice-President stressed that the success of

military performance requirescomplimentarily and connection between the army units in the field and the various military departments. The commanders presented to the Vice President reports of progress and plans to improve performance and ensure the success of coordination, expressing their appreciation and thanks for the support and attention of the political leadership and member countries of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition.

Vice President Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Ali Mohssen Saleh met Tuesday with the officials in charge of the Department of Medical Services and Military Medical Committee.

The meeting aimed to address several topics in connection to medical care and support for the wounded personnel of the military.

The Vice President stressed that it is very important to step up efforts to provide the injured servicemen with the necessary medical care.

(Lt Gen) Mohssen has already instructed to ease procedures about moving a number of wounded persons to medication abroad.

The officials in charge reported to the Vice President about the efforts were made to help the wounded troops getting the needed medication.

Vice President Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Ali Mohssen Saleh blamed Houthi militia for targeting oil sector, describing that as systematic policy the militia has embarked on to ruin the national economy.

The Vice President’s statement came as he met Sunday with the Undersecretary of Ministry

of Oil and Mineral Eng. Shawqi Al-Mekhlafi.

Al-Mekhalfi detailed (Lt Gen) Mohssen on the Ministry’s efforts aiming to re-operate petroleum sector. He also reported to the Vice President about the underway contacts with oil companies that should come back to the country and

resume their oil businesses.

The Vice President sressted that it is important to re-operate oil industry as soon as possible, given that is urgently needed to bail out the national economy.

Prime Minister Ahmad Obeid bin-Daghr inspected on Wednesday the 22nd of May Hospital in Hadibu, the Capital of Socotra Archipelago.

He directed the body entrusted with carrying out the project of quick rehabilitation of all the facilities of the hospital withina period does not exceed six months. He also inspected the office of the Public Health and Population and challenges facing health sector here.

Earlier, Prime Minister bin-Daghr inspected operational mechanism of Coastal Defense Battalion at the first Marine Infantry Brigade in Hadibu.

The visit of Prime Minister bin-Daghr is based on President Hadi’s directives for inspecting people conditions in Socotra Archipelago.

Prime Minister Ahmad Obeid bin-Daghr, along with Governor of Socotra Archipelago Ramzi Mahrous, has laid foundation stone for the project of asphalting 10 KM in Hadibu City to be financed by the government.

Prime Minister Bin Daghr is accompanied by a number of ministers and arrived in Socotra

on Friday within a tour for the government for normalizing life in liberated provinces and Socotra Archipelago.

He also laid foundation stone for paving 10 KM of the city streets within the government’s efforts for improving Hadibu City as a capital to the tourist province.

Bin-Daghr confirmed keenness of the government for rehabilitating Socotra Archipelago in implementation to directives of President Hadi, who gives Socotra special concern since declaring it a province in 2013.

These projects are included within a plan for improving the province and promoting it.

Bin-Dagher’s statement came as chaired a meeting Tuesday included the community leaders in the Archipelagoes.

The meeting aimed to discuss the situations in the Archipelagoes of Socatra and identify the needed developmental and services projects to improve basic services and the infrastructure

of the Archipelagoes.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of maintaining the social fabric coherence throughout towns and villages of the Archipelagoes. Nobody should be allowed to mess up with the stability and security of the Archipelagoes”, said Bin-Dagher.

Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr said that his government must achieve first is to defeat the armed Houthi rebels, restore the state and extend the state’s authority everywhere in the country.

Addressing a ceremony held in Abyanon Saturday on the occasion of launching a number of service and development projects in the eastern province,

he also directed the government to reconstruct the province.

“We have complicated circumstances because of the war, but Abyan has its institutions destroyed by al-Qaeda and we will restore it to a sound state.”

He said that “we have allocated YR 4 billion for the reconstruction of Abyan, which will start right away.”

He said that President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has directed the payment of YR 2 billion for the reconstruction as a first stage, to be followed by another YR 2 billion in the next stage.

He also praised the Saudi-led Arab Coalition’s intervention in March 2015 to save Yemen against the Iran-backed militant rebels.

Deputy Prime Minister- the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi discussed on Sunday with Foreign Minister of Egypt Samih Shukri cooperation and coordination between the two countries in issues of common concern.

Al-Mikhlafi valued the role of Egypt in supporting the government of President Abd-Rabo Mansour Hadi in political and humanitarian fields and in its participation in the Saudi-led Coalition for regaining the state from the rebel militias.

He confirmed that Yemen seeks Egyptian role in regional and international forums for

regaining order in the country and protecting its unity and sovereignty.

Al-Mikhlafi briefed Shukri on political, humanitarian and security situations in Yemen and efforts of the UN Envoy with other regional and international parties for the resumption of political process on the bases of the GC Initiative, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.

He confirmed that the government is doing its best for regaining security and stability to different provinces, noting that the

government’s efforts face many

challenges and difficulties and works with brother countries on overcoming them.

He praised Egyptian care the state provides to Yemeni citizens in Egypt.

For his part, the Foreign Minister of Egypt confirmed his country’s keenness on supporting Yemen’s stability, regaining order and achieving political solution for avoiding long-lasting conflict in Yemen and for alleviating suffering of Yemeni people.

He pointed out Egypt has sought to alleviate difficult humanitarian situation via sending medical help to Yemeni people.

Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior Eng. Ahmad al-Maisari presided over a meeting on Monday for the security campaign entrusted with removing illegal constructions here for the sixth day in row. The meeting discussed latest developments of the campaign and obstacles facing it and mechanism of overcoming them.The meeting also dealt with a

number of issues concerning lands of the free zone seized by influential and outlaw people recently and including them within the campaign.Minister al-Maisari confirmed that the campaign will cover all illegal and non-urban constructions including lands in the free zone for regaining the looted lands without exceptions. He urged defining and counting

the seized lands in the free zone.On the other hand, Minister al-Maisari discussed with Governor of Abyan General Abu Bakr Hussein latest security developments in Abyan.Al-Maisari was briefed by Hussein to a number of security issues in the province and security apparatus’ plans for realizing more of security stability for tightening security.

The Supreme Judiciary Council held its periodical meeting in the transitional Capital Aden and discussed establishing a primary specialized penal court and prosecution.

The council issued the Decision No. 22 for 2018, the first item of it stipulated on establishing a penal specialized primary court and penal specialized court in Mareb Province. The second item stipulated on establishing a primary prosecution and an appeal specialized court.

The third item stipulated that the specializations of the court and prosecution in the capital Sana’a to these court and prosecution. While the forth item stipulated on cancelling any text or decision objecting this decision, the fifth stipulated that the decision is valid since its date of issuance.

The council approved also establishing a number of prosecutions and primary courts in Mareb and appointing a head to the primary court in Hadibu and Qulinsuwa districts in Socotra Archipelago.

The Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Relief Aid, Abdulraqeeb Fatah discussed with the director of the TİKA - Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency – TİKA Abdullah Sari in the interim capital Aden, TIKA’s role of in implementing relief aid and labor-intensive programs in the government-retaken territories.

He discussed TIKA’s contribution to the implementation of an integrated program for environmental sanitation and a project of providing fishing boats as sources of income for poor families in coastal provinces and some labor-intensive programs.

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Ebtihaj al-Kamal stressed the need of the ministry’s offices in Wadi and desert Hadhramout to take full advantage of support opportunities offered from the international organizations.

She stressed this during a meeting with the Director General of the Ministry’s Office

in the Hadramout, Abdullah Ramadan Bajaham, and the directors of the ministry’s departments in the office.

The Minister stressed the need for women to play an active role in the society by involving them in the programs and activities of the Social Affairs Ministry branch office, and by activating the role of the Center

for Productive Families.

The Director General of the branch office presented to al-Kamal a report on the office’s achievements during the past period, highlighting the difficulties and the future plan for advancing civil society organizations and labor sectors.

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr Ebtihaj Al-Kamal stated that government is very keen on revitalizing labor sector through establishing job-creating projects that can hire large number of labors.

In statement on Mayday Al-Kamal said:” The government would do its utmost to revive labor sector through planning and supporting major projects that can employee as many labors as possible in order to contribute toward revitalizing labor market which has been gravely damaged by Houthi coup d’état”.

The Minister noted that Houthi militia’s coup caused crippling economic losses amounted up to $27 billion by the end of 2017.

“ Houthi militia coup has proved disastrous in all accounts. The militia has almost bring the economic and businesses drive into standstill. Hundreds of thousands of labors have become jobless, hundreds of small-businesses and enterprises have gone bankruptcy, large number of public and private-owned major productive businesses have been destroyed due to the militia’s reckless and irresponsible practices”, Al-Kamal said.

Public Works Minister, UNOPS discuss urban

services for Aden, Sana’a and Hodeidah

Minister of Oil discuses oil

production with Safer Co

Minister of Public Works and Roads Maeen Abdul-Malik have discussed with Bana Kaloti, the UNOPS Director for the Middle East Region and the Integrated Urban Services Team the implementation of urban services projects which have started in Aden, Sana’a and Hodeidah cities.

The meeting was held in the World Bank’s headquarters

in Washington on Friday attended by specialists from the World Bank. The urban service projects in question project cover maintenance of roads, water, sewage and power supply for health facilities in addition to the disposal of waste in nineteen Yemeni cities with funding from the IDA.

The projects aim to restore to 600,000 Yemenis water and

sanitation services, 400 km of roads in urban areas, 60,000 hours of power current supply, and to create 1.5 million working days for skilled and unskilled workers.

The project will be implemented by three Yemeni institutions: the Public Works Project, the Road Maintenance Fund and the Urban Water Management Unit.

Oil and Minerals Minister Eng. Aus Al-Awd chaired a meeting Sunday in the interim capital Aden. The meeting included Deputy minister of Oil, Dr Sa’aeed Ashamasi Executive Manager of Safer Company Eng. Salim Koaiti and senior officials of the Co.

The meeting devoted to address several topics relating to the oil industry and businesses. Most significant of all is resuming oil production and transport through Anoshaima seaport in the region of Radhom of Shabwa province.

cooking gas facilities and LNG were discussed.

The Minister underscored the importance of resuming oil production and transport through Anoshaima harbor on the Arabia Sea in the province of Shabwa.

Safer-Ras Essa oil pipeline project that carries out oil crude from Safer in Marib province to Safer harbor in Hodeida was also touched upon.

Separately, the Minister discussed with the Yemeni Oil Company in Aden the mechanisms should be adapted to ensure fuels supplies regularly in domestic market.

Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeeb Fatah blamed Houthi militia’s for using Hodeida seaport to further worsening the peoples’ torment and the illegal use of the harbor.

In statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah denounced the Houthi militia’s decision to prevent unloading 11979 tons of diesel and 84326 tons of petrol in the seaport, even though the shipment has gained permission from the Command of the Coalition to support the legitimacy in accordance with the WFP. He stated that such action asis in violation of all laws.

The Minister called on the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Liza Grandi to mount pressure on the militia to let fuels shipment go and stop meddling in the relief and humanitarian action. He said :” Since the putschist militia has carried out its coup against the legitimate government and controlled the harbor, it devoted its efforts to obstruct humanitarian actions and target commercial relief ships, using marine mines to threaten marine navigation”.

The governor Taiz said his city is seeing a significant transformation in the form of de-militarizing state institutions and restoring them back to service.

Chairing a meeting of local authority and presidential delegation that arrived from Aden on Monday to oversee paramilitary Abu al-Abbas Brigades’ handover of the city’s eastern precinct to the provincial security forces, Ameen Mahmoud said the state authority will be extended

everywhere in place of military and paramilitary city defenders that had originally seized state buildings in the fight with Houthi rebels.

The city defenders will have to move to the city’s outer frontlines where rebels are besieging the city and the downtown city will see the spread of law enforcement authorities and a restoration of the pre-2015 life, before the Iran-backed Houthis invaded the city.

The governor said the local

authority will work over liberating the rest of the city, reconstruction and repair of war damages and state restoration.

The head of the presidential panel, the deputy Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Saleh al-Zendani said the re-normalization of life in Taiz is the hardcore mandate of the local authority.

He said that the “national warriors of Taiz have taught the (Houthi) enemy a lesson by fighting heroically and capturing 85% of the province’s territory.”

The Security Committee in Taiz approved receiving government premises and institutions in eastern quarter as stated in the agreement for normalizing life in the province.

Headed by Governor Amin Mahmoud on Sunday, the meeting also approved forming another committee for compensating families of the killed during clashes for regaining government premises.

Governor Mahmoud confirmed that evacuating buildings must be voluntarily by military commanders and working on normalizing conditions in the province.

He urged them to integrate efforts for facing Houthi rebels and protecting society.

The Minister of State for Implementing the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference Yasser Al-Roayni has launched in Socotra a campaign for raising public awareness about the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) which was held 2013-2014.

Along with the deputy governor

of the archipelago on Tuesday, Al-Roayni they held a ceremony to mark the campaign’s launch.

First batch of coast guards forces graduated eventually after attending training courses funded by the US and held in the Republic of African Seychelles.

The coast guards personnel received professional training provided by professional trainers of the UN. The training courses designed to rehabilitate the capacities of the Yemeni coast guards forces to be capable to contribute toward countering

smuggling activities and deter any attempts may aim to threaten the regional territorial waters and international marine passageways.

The graduation of this batch came under the cooperation agreements between our country and the US, as a result of the cooperation with Yemen’s Friends Group.

The graduation ceremony attended by Commander of the Navy Forces and Coastal

Defense Maj. General Abdullah Salim Annakhae and military attaché in the Yemeni embassy to the Kingdom of Suadi Arabia, Brigadier Yahya Al-Waeel, Director of Controlling Drugs and Smuggling in the Republic of Seychelles, senior representative of American defense to Yemen, the UN official, Saudi military attaché to our country and British deputy military attaché to our country.

A human rights organization “Shohood” has reported that Houthis committed 4501 violations in Sana’a province last year.

The report said that the violations committed by rebel militia in all the districts of Sana’a included murders, physical assaults, arrests, abductions, tortures, enforced disappearances, recruitment of child fighters, attacks on public and private property, displacement of families, bombing of houses and public facilities, displacement of population, and persecution of individuals and institutions.

The report called on the government to pressure the militia to stop its flagrant human rights violations.

The report called for reparation and compensation to the wounded, displaced and families of the victims killed by the militia.
