Day:3 Saniya Q Ali, a socially savvy educationalist, is one of my best friends. She took me and few of her close friends to lunch at The Pantry in Mall One for her birthday. It was such a delightful afternoon with laughs, jokes, heart to hearts and lots more. We sat there till evening until the waiters started to give us looks (cue to leave! Lol!) Such a get together is like nourishment for one’s soul!

Day:1 The capital city’s most gorgeous girl got engaged to one of Lahore’s most eligible bachelors. Zarpash is the daughter of our very talented friend and makeup stylist par excellence, Sobia Mustafa. I was handling her big event at the Marriot in Islamabad. Working at the hotel made me very nostalgic. I grew up in Islamabad, at a time when the Marriot was the only decent hotel in the city; it was the venue for family weddings and musical nights of greats such as NusratFateh Ali Khan, Zille Huma and Adnan Sami. It’s always a good feeling to look back at your happy childhood and the great memories it has given you. Anyhow Zarpash’s event was fabulous and she looked absolutely gorgeous. At the end of the day, what matters to me is that my hard work is appreciated and my client is smiling and getting complimented on a great event.

Day:2 The next day in the capital city, my good friend Samina Lakhani, who runs Abrams by the name of Ala, was hosting her first year celebrations with her business partner SabeenShaban. I attended the event with my friend Rezz to congratulate these wonderful ladies on their success and achievement.

Day: 4It was a beautiful sunny day

and I had absolutely nothing to do! The kind of daythat rarely comes in my life, so I thought

I should go out and check out all the malls in Lahore. I concluded that Gulberg

Galleria is hands down one of the best in town, it has all the top local brands and few of

the best coffee shops. I enjoy doing these things alone, so it wasall very relaxing and

therapeutic for me.

Day: 5Ramzan Sheikh and his gorgeous wife Uzma hosted a black-tie affair at their

club, Royal Palm in Lahore. It was a night glittering with the who’s who of

Lahore, decked out in their formal gowns and tuxes. I generally don’t go out

that much but when special people like the Sheikhs invite me, then I know I’m

in for a fantastic time and so I make sure to check in an appearance. Luckily it

was a weekend and I didn’t have to abide by my self-imposed curfew. Had a

great time with my friends from the fashion fraternity!

Day: 6&7It’s my birthday! I personally want to thank all my beautiful friends from fashion, the social scene, my NCA lot and my family. My brother cut his trip to Istanbul short, just for my birthday, and flew in to Lahore directly. His new

obsession, the selfie-stick, was a fun addition in getting pictures taken. My birthday was in all a fun filled

evening where all the people I love gathered at The Cube in Lahore’s

fabulous Nishat hotel. My friends Tony, Farzeen of Rani Emaan and Jugnu Waseem specially

came from Islamabad for my birthday. Reema and Resham were also in attendance and looked fantastic. The delicious cake was by Muneeze

Khalid.
