PASTOR’S PAGE

Like newborn infants, you must long for the pure, spiritual milk, that in him you may grow to salvation, alleluia. (1 Pt 2:2)

Resurrexit sicut dixit! Dominus surrexit vere! He is risen as he said! The Lord is truly risen!

Peace to all of you, my dear sons and daughters in Christ!

My heart is full of peace after the celebration of the great liturgies of the Sacred Triduum and the Easter Octave. We bring those days to fullness today with the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday.

Remember – Jesus appeared in the Upper Room on “the evening of that first day of the week” which is the evening of that first Easter Sunday. Jesus breathes on the Apostles and grants them the power to forgive sins by the power of the Holy Spirit!

After conquering death and overthrowing the kingdom of the Devil, Jesus now overthrows the reign of sin on earth through the Sacrament of Confession which is Divine Mercy.

During these days of Stay at Home Orders and restrictions on travel and public gatherings I want you to know that I am working to keep access to the Sacrament of Divine Mercy – the Sacrament of Confession accessible and resume Eucharistic Adoration in soon.

Confessions are heard in the church

every Wednesday & Friday from 5:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. as well as every Sunday morning from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.

I encourage all, in the Name of our Lord Jesus, to come and visit Him in the Blessed Sacrament, find rest in His Heart and peace in contemplating His Face. Then encounter Him in the Sacrament of His Divine Mercy.

Thanks to those who took time to decorate the church for Easter, it looks beautiful. If you have a chance to visit the church on a sunny day the effect is stunning.

Thanks to all of you for your kindness and for all of your support of our parish.

I miss you and I love you all like Jesus! Fr. Eric Sternberg

CALVARY CEMETERY SPRING CLEANUP

As spring has finally arrived, let us work together to take care of our loved ones memories at Calvary Cemetery. Our caretakers will be working hard to clean up the grounds from winter but also getting our winter burials seeded. With that being said, please help us by remembering that candles and glass items are not permitted. Flowers and solar lights are wel-comed as they need to be placed in the headstone right away and only one per plot. Please keep vehi-cles on roadway and not on the grass. The caretak-ers have the right to remove anything is not permit-ted. Any questions or a copy of the rules for Calvary Cemetery can be requested by contacting the Parish Office by calling (608) 254-8381 or by email [email protected] Thank you for working with us to show our love for our beloved members and the sacred grounds.

Thank You

We would like to give a special thanks to

Mary Leary, Rose Bavlnka, and Jennifer Pettit

for decorating our church for Easter.

New Adult Study Program

Beginning April 27 at 2pm or 6:30pm

Cost is $35 for book, the study guide, and video access. Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life by Marcellino

D’Ambrosio is a book of approximately 280 pages that

stands alone but also accompanies the 10-week video study

program presented by Marcellino D’Ambrosio, Jeff Cavins,

and Edward Sri.

In this book, Catholics walk step by step with Jesus from his

infancy to the Ascension. Anchored in the life of Christ as

presented in the Gospels, it explores the entirety of Jesus’

life—who he is, what he is really like, what he taught, what

he did for our salvation, and what this means for us as

Catholics today.

This study shows, in a simple way, how Jesus, the Incarnate God, is both fully divine and fully

human—his intimacy with the Father, his revelation of the Father’s love, and his extraordinary

influence on his disciples, his followers, and even his enemies.

Most importantly, this encounter with Christ will inspire and empower you to center your entire life

in him as you come to know and love him in an

ever-deeper and more intimate way.

In this book, Catholics will learn… Who Jesus is and how he answers the longings of the human heart.

Why Jesus was baptized.

The significance of the Transfiguration.

The essentials of Christology explained in a way the average Catholic can understand.

The mystery and meaning of the Resurrection, Christ’s triumph over death.

The nature of Jesus’ mission and the redemption of humanity.

Our role today as Catholics in the Great Commission.
