MARIJUANA
This drug is a hallucinogen – a substance which distorts how the mind perceives the world you live in. The chemicals in cannabis that creates this distortion is known as “THC”. Consuming one joint gives as much exposure to cancer-producing chemicals as smoking 5 cigarettes. Marijuana causes increased heart rate, lessened coordination & balance and a dreamy UNREAL state of mind.

GUTHRIE JOB CORPS CENTER TORNADO SAFETY PLAN
A steady siren blast for 3 to 5 minutes is a signal to take cover immediately. Remember the “Tornado Protection Position”: lie face down, draw knees up under your body, and cover the back of your head with your hands. Always close nearby doors for protection from flying debris. A. If you are in a Center vehicle or bus, evacuate to a substantial structure away from the vehicle. If there is no shelter nearby, lie flat in the nearest ditch, ravine, or culvert with your hands shielding your head. B. If you are in a city or town, seek indoor shelter, preferably in a steel-framed or reinforced concrete building. Stay away from windows. Crouch in an inside hallway, basement, or other area in which closely spaced walls offer protection against flying glass, bricks, or other falling objects. Avoid areas with wide free-span roofs. C. If you are in open country, move at right angles to the tornado’s path – you may have time to escape. If you are unable to run, lie flat in the nearest ditch, ravine, or culvert with your hands shielding your head. If the funnel seems to be standing still but getting larger, it is coming towards you. D. If you are in Building 2 (CTT), remain in the classroom or office area(s) and assume the “Tornado Protection Position” against an interior wall. Shop classes should go to the restroom areas. E. If you are in Building 6 (Warehouse), go to the office restrooms. F. If you are in Building 7 (Maintenance Shop), go to the office area and close the door. G. If you are in Building 8 (Carpentry), go to the restrooms located on the north side of the building and close the doors. H. If you are in Building 9, 10, or 11 (Welding), go to the middle classroom between Shop 9 and Shop 11. I. If you are in Building 21 (Administration), go to the conference room or restrooms. Close the office doors for protection from flying debris. Wellness staff should go to the interior hallway and take cover. J. If you are in Building 22 (Cafeteria/Culinary Arts), go to the dining room restrooms. Dining hall employees will ensure that all open flames are extinguished. K. If you are in Building 23 (Career Preparation), go to the restroom areas and close the doors. L. If you are in Building 24 (Center Protection/Social Development/Behavior Modification), go to the restroom areas and close the doors. M. If you are in Dormitory 25 or Dormitory 26, evacuate to the lower level by way of stairwell. Go to the first floor by way of middle corridor to ground floor hallway and assume the “Tornado Protection Position” against the wall. Staff must ensure all room doors on the first floor are closed. Students residing on the ground floor will evacuate their rooms and assume the “Tornado Protection Position” against the wall in the hallway. Use mattresses and pillows for added shelter in hallways, if possible. N. If you are in Dormitory 27 or Dormitory 28, evacuate to the first floor by way of exit corridor located on the ends of each wing. Students will remain in lower level exit corridor under the stairs, or in laundry room areas. Staff must ensure all room doors are closed. Students residing on the ground floor will go to the restroom areas in their rooms and close the doors. O. If you are in Building 29 (CDSS), go to Academics and take shelter in a classroom (assuming the “Tornado Protection Position” against an interior wall), if time permits. P. If you are in Building 31 (Academics), remain in the classroom areas and assume the “Tornado Protection Position” against an interior wall. Q. If you are in Building 32 (Gymnasium), go to the restroom/shower areas. Staff will be responsible for accountability and notification of Command Team of students in their area. R. If you are in Building 33 (Arts & Crafts), go to the restroom area and close doors. REMEMBER: WHEN A TORNADO APPROACHES, YOUR IMMEDIATE AND APPROPRIATE ACTION MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!!
