WEEK B
Red Wool and Black Buttons Reminder November 11 2018 will be the 100 year anniversary of the end of the First World War. The Radyr and
Morganstown History Society are organising a festival. Several volunteers throughout the community are
currently in the process of knitting poppies. In order to help them with this, we would like to receive
donations of black buttons or balls of red wool. If every child in school brought just one black button it
would be a massive help to a great cause. Thank you to those parents and students who have already
donated. Please bring all donations into the Humanities faculty. If you can knit and would like to volunteer to help please contact Mrs Knight.
Music Eisteddfod: Preparation has started for this year's Eisteddfod. Rehearsals for Kitchen Band, Dance and
Karaoke have begun and other competitions are being shared via Show My Homework. Please encourage your child to take part and represent their house - every entry gets a point!

Year 10 Enterprise & Employability Challenge
Mrs Clarke, Mrs Thomas, Mrs Youssef and Miss Jones are extremely pleased on how well the
Year 10 Enterprise and Employability “pitches” have been presented.
The pupils had to work together in groups to create a product of a specific theme :“wearable
technology”. Pupils had to write and prepare for their company`s pitch as well as create a display
board to use as part of their pitch. Mrs Clarke, Head of Skill faculty said “There has been so many
innovative ideas on “wearable technology” this year. They are all amazing!”
Pupils will soon be told who the winner is in each of their WBQ classes followed by an overall
Enterprise and Employability Challenge winner. Watch this space!!
Here are some of the pupil`s boards that were used in the pitches.
