Week 1: Outfit 3

Sequence of Operations: Final collection

Front and Back Jacket

•  Starting with the Jacket •  Use a size 12 bodice block •  On the construction sheet add a balance line,

placing bodice block together on the side seams •  Draw around block •  Pivot dart into waist •  On the bodice decide where the halter neck seam

would go •  Trace over construction sheet, cut out and glue

the halter neck pattern onto the sheet •  The shoulders are pin tucked, I decided to

leave the shoulder piece as it was, draw again for my block and add seam allowance.

•  I would pin tuck my fabric first and then cut the pattern out of the pin tucked fabric.

•  On the design the jacket has a raised neck, measure on the mannequin how high on the neck needs to be added on the halter neck piece.

•  Front neck cut to fold and back neck cut 1 pair.

•  Front and back bodice block, seam allowance, darts, size, cut to fold, cut 1 pair, straight grain.

•  Draw around size 12 sleeve block •  Sleeve block with seam allowance, front, back. •  Pin tuck fabric first then cut pattern out.

•  The skirt •  Start with full circle skirt •  Size 12 •  On the construction sheet I used a full

circle skirt block, front and back •  I then measured on a mannequin how short I

wanted the skirt to be •  With the draft block I had to section the

skirt, measuring how much fullness I want in the skirt

•  Making a new draft of the mini full circle, I then have to cut the front and back equally into two pattern pieces. This is where the center front and center back seams will be placed

•  I Now trace over the draft adding seam allowance of 1cm for my new skirt blocks

•  The skirt for outfit 3 is pleated, I will pleat the fabric I am using first before I cut the pattern out.

Week 1: Outfit 1

Sequence of Operations: Final collection

•  Using a size 12 playsuit block •  Trace the block and add all instructions •  Measure the chest of a mannequin, deciding on how high up on the collar or neck the T-bar will be •  The front block will be cut to fold •  The back block will be cut 1 pair •  The neck piece was drafted from a size 12 mannequin, then cut

and open the neck piece draft •  This was then made into a block •  The shorts section of the playsuit has separate panels sliver fabric. •  Deciding where each panel will sit, then making into a block

then adding 1 cm seam allowance. Each panel will be cut to 1 pair

•  This outfit also has leggings to complete the look, I will be using the pattern of leggings from outfit 3
