Who did you serve and what did you

accomplish that day.

Every Wednesday we serve Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO), an organization dedicated to the aid of abandoned and homeless animals.

We feed, clean cages, and walk dogs

We do laundry - ARNO always has a lot of laundry, especially when it is cold as the animals get

blankets to snuggle with

We also oversee the dogs in the play yard so they can exercise and have fun with their friends

We also take care of ARNO’s many cats, which includes feeding, cleaning litter pans, and cages

What is your team's plan for an ongoing

relationship with the nonprofit?

Our ongoing plan is to keep going out on Wednesdays to help out.  Our group has contributed hundreds of hours to the shelter and we want to keep this up.  It just makes you feel so good to help these animals.

What would your nonprofit do if they won part of the prize money?

There are so many needs at the shelter.  ARNO promotes the foster, adoption and re-union of pets with caretakers as well as spaying and neutering of all companion animals.  The care of these animals is very expensive - food, shelter, and medical care. One of ARNO’s specific need is for cat traps for their TNR (trap-neuter-release) program for feral cats. ARNO's  TNR program supplies traps to people who have feral cats in their neighborhood to help cut down on overpopulation.
