If there is light duty work that is available and meets the person’s restriction, we will have them work until they are released or there is no more light duty type of work. Help Fill the Button JarPatients in the Allen Child Protection Center do not always see other patients in the center – they need to know they are not alone. The ACPC is rolling out a new project call the “Button Jar.” The purpose behind the project is to give patients the opportunity to select a button that best represents themselves and place the button into a jar when they leave. As the jar fills it up, it represents other patients who have also been seen for allegations of abuse at the ACPC.

How can you help? The ACPC needs buttons in order to fill the jar for patients already seen since 2010, as well as to have options for future patients to choose from. If you are interested in donating buttons to the ACPC please contact [email protected] or (319) 226-2352.

Thank you in advance for helping our patients know they are not alone!

Giving & Receiving1st Floor Restrooms Closed for RemodelingThe public restrooms across from Meeting Room 6 will be closed for approximately 3 weeks for remod-eling. During this time, please direct visitors to other public restrooms located on first floor at Entrances 1, 3, 7, and in the Learning Center area.

Coming in 2017:New Intranet

Submit articles to: [email protected] for submissions: Noon the previous Friday

The buzz is true! UnityPoint Health is excited to launch a new, system-wide intranet this year. The new intranet will roll out in a phased-in approach by region. Here’s the schedule to see where the Waterloo region is in the launch lineup.

Site preparation is well underway, and regional, multi-disciplinary teams, led by local Regional Adoption Executives (RAE) are collaborating on this project. Our Waterloo RAE is Steve Sesterhenn. As we get closer to launch, resources and tools, such as a content crossover map and video previews of the new site, will be available to make the transition as easy as possible.

Stay tuned for regular updates on the new intranet, and contact Michelle Torrey, System Services Senior Digital Specialist, for specific questions.

“Pay My Bill” Makes Online BillPaying Easier for PatientsTo make online bill payment easier for UnityPoint Health and UnityPoint Clinic patients, we’ve recently added a new “Pay My Bill” button in the top right hand corner of most of our regional web site pages and the UnityPoint Clinic web site. The new button takes the customer to a master payment page with a prominent, direct link for our secure online payment portal. The page also has information about understanding one’s bill, contact information for billing questions and a resource for financial assistance questions.

During 2017, we will be working on additionalchanges to make the financial information on ourwebsites more uniform and easier to understand. These changes help support our overall Revenue Cycle objectives for 2017 and beyond.
