8 : 0 0 — 9 : 4 5 a m R o u n d O n e | 1 0 : 0 0 — 1 1 : 4 5 a m R o u n d Tw o
The legislative process is meant to facilitate public conversations about issues. But it’s pretty confusing.
This workshop will offer key strategies and present creative case studies to help you take your
organization’s direct advocacy and grassroots efforts to the next level. Explore state and local -level
political shifts and legislative trends, and tools to help you follow the action.
This workshop session will explore the spirit of motivational interviewing to empower patients and
promote wellness, specifically approaches that integrate motivational interviewing into
healthcare. Carolyn will share practice skills to engage patients, strengthen motivation and increase
confidence to change.
Motivational Interviewing in Healthcare
This workshop will cover more advanced topics related to Medicare billing in the rural health clinic.
Plenty of time will be allotted for questions and answers. At the conclusion of this session, participants
will have knowledge of billing for preventive services, billing for the new chronic care management
services, split billing of certain diagnostic services, Physician Quality Reporting Service (PQRS) and
other Medicare incentive payments and bad debt reimbursement.
Advanced Billing for Rural Health Clinics
The Code of Federal Regulations states that RHCs “must develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain an effective,
ongoing, data-driven quality assessment and performance improvement program.” Beyond this, it just makes
sense to have a Quality Assurance and Program Improvement (QAPI) program to ensure the quality of care,
services, and operations. In this workshop, we will discuss QAPI approaches to help you develop or improve your
program. Bring your QAPI plan with you for our discussion.
