Rules/Conditions• The committee reserves the right to change or alter the program at any time.

• Committee and Judges decision is final.

• Disclaimer – All competitors whilst competing do so at their own risk. The

organising committee does not accept liability for any accident, damage, injury

or illness to horses, riders, beasts, grounds, and spectators or any other person

or property whatsoever.

• Affiliation – Events are ACA Affiliated

• Helmets – Riders under the age of 18 must wear helmets whilst mounted on a

horse at all ACA‐affiliated events. Helmets must comply with current

Australian and New Zealand safety standards and must be securely fastened

under the chin at all times.

• Encouragement Rider – An Encouragement campdraft competitor shall be 17

years and over and one who has not won 1 Encouragement or 1 Open age

draft, or placed 3 times in an Open age campdraft.

• Maiden Rider –A Maiden Campdraft competitor must not have won a

Campdraft that breaks a horse’s status. i.e. Maiden, Maiden 4 Maiden, Novice,

Open, Restricted Open, Ladies or a restricted draft.

• Horse Status – The status of a horse winning a campdraft will be determined

by the highest class of horse that competes with the exception of Juniors,

Juveniles, Ladies, Mens, Old Buffers, Associates and Encouragement

campdrafts. The winner attains the status of the highest class of horse

participating (e.g. if one Open horse competes then it is classed as an Open

draft).

• Nomination – Your ACA membership number must be provided otherwise

your nomination will not be processed.

• Scratching – A 100% refund of the nomination fee will be given if the

competitor withdraws more than 168 hours (7 days) prior to 8:00am on the

first morning of the program. If a competitor withdraws less than 168 hours (7

days prior to 8:00am on the first morning of the program), then the entire

nomination fee may be retained by the committee. If the committee deems

that extenuating circumstances apply, then a refund may be granted. Each

case will be at the discretion of the committee.

• Age determination – The age of horses will be calculated from the first day of

August in the year it was foaled. All horses foaled before the first of August in

any year, shall be deemed one year old on that date. Challenges held from 1st

August to 31st December horses will be Five Years and Under.

Any horse that is a 4-year-old prior to 1st August will become a 5-year-old on

1st August and may continue to compete in the 5 & Under Challenge for that

calendar year. Any horse that is a 5-year-old prior to 1st August will become a

6-year-old on 1st August and so is not eligible to compete in the 5 & Under

Challenge.

For the purpose of this event registration papers, registered brands,

Managers/ Owners declaration, or veterinary/ committee inspection shall

determine age.

• Proof of Age – The committee reserves the right to request the presentation

of all registration documents and to inspect horses for proof of age.
