Awards
……if all families paid their annual voluntary contribution, the school would have $13,160 to purchase bonus resources and equipment for your children. To date we have only collected $1,960…………$11,200 short of our target! Voluntary contributions remain at $40 for one child, $80 for two children and $100 for 3 or more children. We would love your support to help us reach our target in 2018!

Relieving Principal’s Message This week, is Celebration of SAS Staff Recognition Week.
Each year, SAS Staff Recognition Week is organised to acknowledge the contribution of these staff whether they work in the office, the library, in the school grounds, in a classroom setting or in other roles.
Next Tuesday we have girls representing the school and Albury PSSA at the Riverina Girls Cricket Trials and also at an Albury Girls Rugby League Gala Day. It is wonderful to see so many more opportunities for girls in sport, especially when our school has so many talented sports-women. I know all the students are looking forward to dressing up for Footy Colours Day next Friday, 14 September, with all the money raised to support farmers as a result of the drought. A great initiative by the Student Representative Council (SRC) which I know you will support as well. Thank you for your continued support of our fantastic school, great staff and amazing students. Eat Fresh & Win
The Eat Fresh & Win campaign promotes fruit and vegetables and offers each student the opportunity to win great prizes. Each time a student makes a ‘healthy’ selection from the canteen they are rewarded with a sticker to add to their entry form. Upon collecting 2 stickers, students return their entry form to the canteen and the child is rewarded with a minor prize. The final step is for the Canteen Manager to send all completed entry forms back to the Sydney Markets for the major prize draw. This campaign ends on Friday 21 September 2018.
The NSW government has launched a new Healthy School Canteen Strategy which focuses on increasing the availability of healthy food and drink options in school canteens so students can make healthier choices. The Strategy is being delivered collaboratively by the Department of Education, NSW Health and the Premier’s Implementation Unit, and will contribute to the Premier’s Priority to reduce overweight and obesity rates of children by five percentage points by 2025.
