SpringThe Hodsock estate is famous for its spectacular woodland carpets of Snowdrops early in the year, followed by wonderful displays of daffodils and blossom, then during late Spring walk the woodland path with impressive Bluebell displays.
SummerThe traditional popular Summer wedding months invite the opportunity to step outside for fun lawn games or relaxing drinks receptions on the Italian Terrace. Photographs look beautiful by the lake and we throw open the doors for receptions in the light and airy Pavilion.
AutumnLater in the season, the pretty romantic colours of our landscape give way to a blaze of golden-leafed glory, providing the perfect canvas for nostalgic themed Autumn weddings. The pretty bridges joining lawns and woodland create a wonderful photo spot.
WinterIn the dark winter months, with berries on the trees and frosty mornings and snow, Hodsock becomes a magical wonderland.
We have roaring log fires and fire pits, warming drinks and hearty food to be enjoyed.
Hodsock Priory tells a unique story in each month of the year- whether it’s through the stunning flowering displays of colour in the garden and grounds, or our welcoming seasonal hospitality.
Seasonal Splendour
Sadly, we cannot promise you sunshine or snow, but at Hodsock, your wedding will have a dramatic visual backdrop, whatever the weather, at any time of the year.

After approaching through the archway of Nottinghamshire’s last remaining Grade 1 listed Tudor gatehouse, you enter the house through our oak panelled entrance hall.
One of our popular rooms for ceremonies is the spectacular Panelled Hall - an atmospheric room overlooking the North Lawn which can accommodate 80 guests with standing room for 20 more.
The main hallway, complete with an original 1864 Bechstein piano and family portraits, leads into the delightful reception rooms.
The Ante Room and Library are homely rooms for guests to enjoy drinks and congregate.
Hodsock Priory has a rich and interesting heritage, having once entertained four English kings including Henry VIII. The main house is largely 19th Century and was renovated in 2007 to become the spectacular wedding venue that it is today.
The House
Our light and airy contemporary Bar opens out onto the Italian Terrace – a delightful feature in summer, for drinks receptions and canapés overlooking the Fan Lawn and lake.
The Pavilion is the focal point of the house for your wedding reception, accommodating up to 140 seated guests or 250 guests for an evening reception party. The room is simple and elegant with stunning views across the landscaped gardens by day but atmospheric with customisable mood lighting at night.

Making Memories

Hodsock Priory is just a mile from Blyth, a traditional country village with good pubs and local amenities.
A few miles away is the historic coaching town of Bawtry, known for its tea rooms, high-end fashion boutiques and lots of places to eat and drink.
Keep your eyes peeled for our roadside signage. SatNav users should follow signs to Blyth before picking up the estate’s roadside signs leading to Hodsock. Please be aware if you’re sent to Carlton-in-Lindrick by your SatNav onto Hodsock Lane, this is a dead end.
Hodsock’s close proximity to the A1 means that finding us is easy – even though we’re in a secluded location.
How to Find Us
Looking to arrive in style?
Helicopters are permitted to land at the estate on the Fan Lawn. Our nearest airfield is Gamston.
The local train station at Retford is well connected for regional and national travel. The East Coast line operates here meaning London is under 90 minutes away.
Full directions to Hodsock Priory can be found on hodsockpriory.com
Parking and Taxis
As Hodsock is tucked away on a private estate, guests will need to consider their travel arrangements well in advance. Details of recommended taxi services in the immediate area can be found at hodsockpriory.com and we’d urge bookings to be made before your wedding day.
There is ample, free parking on the Hodsock estate for guests travelling by car.
