We are delighted that you are considering Methven Castle as a venue for your wedding. This can be arranged in all sorts of ways to meet your wishes and to make your day as special as possible, whether this is a religious, civil or humanist ceremony.

The best way to make a value judgement about whether Methven Castle as a venue would suit your dreams is to come, have a look and have a chat to us about your hopes and aspirations and to check whether it is suitable for your guests.

In the meantime we recognise that many people like some background information before deciding to visit.

If the bride and groom intend to return to Methven Castle to spend their first night as a married couple, the bride and groom may use the Tudor Rose bedroom, on the second floor of the castle, before and after the wedding service.

Other guests are not permitted access to the upper floors unless they are staying in the castle.

For family or friends wishing to stay there are three bedrooms that can accommodate 6-8 people in the castle.

You will be the only guests on the day of your wedding and you will have exclusive use of the grounds for your wedding photography.

The James IV Hall is on the ground floor of Methven Castle

and can accommodate a maximum of 60 guests. We can

accommodate both the wedding service and a wedding

reception for a maximum of 30 guests. We can offer a drinks

reception, champagne or a selection of your choice, and

canapés for a maximum of 60 guests.

Some couples who marry like to have the wedding service

at Methven Castle, followed by champagne and canapés

while the photographs are being taken in the castle grounds,

with its stunning views over the Perthshire countryside, then

leave for a wedding reception in a nearby hotel thereafter

and return to Methven Castle to spend their first night as Mr

and Mrs.

GENERALMethven Castle works with a number of external service providers.

We cannot guarantee that those service providers will be available on the date of your event or indeed that they will be able to meet with specific Client requirements. However we will do our best to strive try to meet with your wishes.

The following is a list of various suggestions based on information provided by some external service providers and is intended as a guide only.

There are many different options available and other external service providers. Final prices will depend on specific requirements and external service provider availability will need to be confirmed.

PLEASE NOTE:

Smoking is not permitted.

Confetti rose petals and bubbles can all be used outside.

Candles are not permitted.

The cost to hire Methven Castle for a wedding service is £895.00. This rate is fixed to the end of 2018.

If you decide that Methven Castle would be a suitable venue, we will ask you to complete a confirmation form.

Upon receipt, subject to availability, we will reserve the date for a period of four weeks, while we send you a copy of our terms and conditions for signature and seek payment of a 50% non refundable deposit.

Receipt of both the signed terms and conditions and the non refundable deposit will constitute confirmation of the reservation.

The balance of the payment is required eight weeks in advance of your wedding date.
