Welcome

Thank you for your enquiry requesting information on your forthcoming wedding here at the Lodge on Loch Goil.

Myself and my team are available from the first phone call, right through to running your wedding with complete confidence..

I have been in the industry for over 15 years and have successfully planned over 750 weddings. The Lodge is a spectacular venue at any time of the year which I still get amazed by even to this day.

I know what works in this venue and what doesn’t so you can be assured I will provide you with the best advice and recommendations for your special day. My brides are of the utmost importance to me and my team; when I see a happy bride at the end of the night, I know I have done my job to the best of my ability.

About The Lodge

The Lodge on Loch Goil is Argyll’s only 5 star exclusive use venue. Winner of the Most Stylish Hotel in Scotland 2015 and Winner of the Best Country House Hotel 2016 in the Global Travel Awards.

The Lodge is such a remarkable wedding venue of great class and style; it has the romantic charm and country house elegance. Built in 1864 by William Leiper nestled between the shores of Loch Goil and a majestic backdrop of mountain scenery, this seven bedroom private country house provides all the comforts and opulence you would expect of a 5-star hotel but also has her own individual sense of identity and style.

One of the top locations for Fashion Shoots in the UK, the Lodge has opened it’s doors to many famous names and brands including Helena Christensen who stayed in our Summerhouse while shooting on location.

The wedding packages we provide cater to every individual couples needs. Our treehouse, as featured in the visit Scotland advert, is one of the only licensed treehouse wedding venues in the world.

Life is a fantasy hideaway, where else can you exchange your vows and stimulate endless imagination than our treehouse especially on your wedding day, then retire to our summerhouse the honeymoon suite sitting at the edge of the garden overlooking a sea loch.

Arran Wedding Package

Based on 24 adults2 night stay mid-week (Monday-Wednesday) with 24 guests in house

This price is based on a two night stay for 24 adults staying at the Lodge with the bride and groom each having their own dressing rooms.

There is plenty of accommodation in the local area to accommodate any extra guests.

Extra Wedding InformationChildren 3-12 years are £95 per child which includes

accommodation, soft drinks, dinner and breakfast, children under 3 are free.

Extra day guests are all £175 per person which includes Champagne, Canapé’s, dinner, Wine and Cheese Slate.

Child day guests are £55 which includes Dinner and soft drinks.

To book a weekend wedding package you must have a minimum of 50 guests.

Mid-week weddings — arrive on a Monday at 3pm and depart on a Wednesday at 11am.

Weekend weddings — arrive on a Friday at 3pm and depart on a Sunday at 11am.

Its difficult to put into words just how unique and special it is; a hidden gem like no other. Our stay was amazing from start to finish.

Celebrant informationThe celebrant you choose is of huge importance to your forthcoming wedding.

In Scotland the laws are very different; you can get married outside if desired. All legal paperwork must be completed by the local registrar in Argyll & Bute despite which celebrant you choose for your wedding. The registrar must have notice of a marriage 3 months prior to the date and no later than 29 days before your wedding.

In Scotland you can get married by our registrar, humanist or a minister.

Registrar

The registrar is very similar to the humanist since the laws have changed. You can write your own vows and have your ceremony almost anywhere. We work with Argyll & Bute Council registrars who have been coming to the Lodge for over 15 years.

Humanist

There are only 6 countries in the world which humanists can marry you and Scotland is one of them since 2005. Humanists are available for any couples looking for a non-religious, personal and meaningful way to celebrate their marriage. The humanist allows you to write your own vows and tailor your ceremony; they also offer same sex marriages.

Minister

The Minister can marry you at the Lodge or at the local church if you are looking for a religious ceremony.

Please note - if you choose the minister or the humanist you will have to personally go and pick up your legal paperwork at Dunoon registry office which is 1 hours drive from the Lodge and return the paperwork the day after the ceremony in person or by recorded delivery.

The CeremonyWe have a variety of locations available to get married in the Lodge to suit the needs of every couple.

The Treehouse

Our amazing treehouse is the only licensed treehouse in the world. With a maximum capacity of 24, you can have your ceremony in here by candlelight. You will stand at the treehouse balcony with your celebrant and exchange your vows in front of family and friends. You can also play your own music in the treehouse with our bluetooth speaker if you so wish.

The Ceremony

Arts & Crafts Room

The Arts & Crafts room is a truly unforgettable experience. With church like touches such as the Daniel Cottier stained glass windows and hand painted wallpaper, this is a stunning room to get married in. We can have the chairs in a theatre like style for all your guests. With the fire roaring, candles lit and the red carpet rolled out, this may be your ceremony room of choice. The maximum capacity for the Arts & Crafts room is 55.

The Ceremony

The Orangery

The orangery is the Victorian word used for conservatory. The by-folding doors can open this room up to the elements and has stunning views out over the grounds and loch. Like the Arts & Crafts room the chairs and red carpet can be placed here for your ceremony. The capacity for the orangery is 70.

The Loch Front

For the better weather days, the loch front is the ideal place to exchange your vows. The wooden chairs with the red carpet can be placed down here with your wedding being within yards of a Scottish sea loch. A unique and amazing experience with the perfect location for photographs. The loch front can hold 70 with some guests standing, you can sign your paperwork in the treehouse if you choose to get married at the loch front.

The Terrace

Scotland is a stunning part of the world at anytime of the year with each season bringing its own beauty and tranquility, the lodge terrace and landscapes gardens are the perfect place to have the ceremony by bringing the outside in. Nestled between the shores of the loch with a majestic backdrop of mountain scenery, our terrace we can accommodate 70 people all seated for the ceremony.

A Foodies dreamYour wedding breakfast is one of the most important meals of your life so it is imperative that it is perfect. Luckily we have a fantastic chef with many years in the industry who will lovingly prepare each dish for you. Being a family run business for the past 20 years, the Lodge on Loch Goil prides itself on sourcing the freshest produce and ingredients from the surrounding areas. Our chef takes the greatest care in selecting vegetables and herbs from our Victorian greenhouse situated in the grounds.

Rooms for DiningThe Arts & Crafts dining room can hold a maximum of 24. Also great for smaller weddings the large table will bring all your wedding guests close together for a relaxing meal. This can also be used for the meal the night before the big day.

Our amazing treehouse can be used for dining up to a maximum of 8 guests. Perfect for small weddings or maybe for a close candlelit dinner the evening before. The treehouse will be candlelit with the wood burning stove rustling in the background. You may wish to have the doors open to look out over the loch at dusk.

The orangery is best suited for weddings of 50 or above. With the beautiful views over the grounds and loch, we can fit up to 7 round tables in here for your wedding party.

Also a fantastic idea for the night before, we can create a large table for your ‘informal’ dining or a BBQ.

General InformationHolding datesOur booking system can hold dates for 7 days, after this they will be automatically released. Our calendars change daily, if you wish to hold dates please do let us know.

Show RoundsPlease note Show Rounds are strictly by appointment only as our main office based in Helensburgh; a 45 minute drive from the Lodge on Loch Goil. We will not accept drop-in’s.

BookingsTo confirm your booking we would require a 50% deposit with the remaining balance due 1 month prior to your arrival. We will contact the registrar or celebrant of choice before you put your deposit down to ensure they are available for the date selected.

What if my numbers change?This is not a problem, all extra guests not included in your chosen package will be added to your second pro-forma before your arrival.

Vendors We have details of pipers, bands, cake suppliers, local accommodation, hairdressers and make up artist etc that we can provide you with.

ConfettiPlease note that The Lodge does not allow any confetti, if you do require fresh rose petals then please speak with The Lodge florist.

PetsThe Lodge can accommodate one, small well behaved dog however please note that the dog must sleep in the summerhouse and is not allowed in the venue. £25 charge will occur.

Do you have a sound system? Yes we have a fantastic sound system installed around the Lodge where you can connect iPhones, iPods, iPad’s etc for playlists.

Cancellation PolicyFor cancellations received between 3 to 12 months of the proposed date, the fee is 50% of the anticipated charges. For a cancellation received within 3 months of the proposed date, the fee is 100% of the anticipated charges. The reason for this is because of our small size. Cancellations affect us significantly and this gives us little chance of filling the space due to our remote location. For these reasons we hold a strict cancellation policy.
