Nuptial Blessing for Isaac and Amy – Joseph Carver, SJ

DAD: Blessed are you, O Lord God of Israel, God of Abraham and Sarah, God of Isaac and Rebekah, our Creator, our Redeemer Your love sustains the human race and fills us with joy. Your compassion and kindness extend from age to age, from the rising even to the setting of the sun.

MOM: Blessed are you, who give us life and breath to proclaim your wonders, who give us the exampleof your powerful love in the life you have poured outfor us in Jesus Christ, our brother and our savior.

DAD: We praise you, Lord, for you have called us to a new and never-ending covenant and have formed us into your people to do your will and to be a sign of your love and mercy to all creation. We praise you for you have called us all to holiness, to be a people of peace and thankfulness and generosity, to show forth your goodness in every age.

MOM: We praise you, for you have called us into companionship with one another to continually give you thanks and praise and to show all people your love by thelove we have for one another.

DAD: Loving and compassionate God, pour out your blessing upon your servants Amy and Isaac.

MOM: Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts, a mantle about their shoulders, and a crown upon their foreheads. As they commit themselves to one another forever in a bond of love let them entrust themselves anew to you, source of all love and all goodness.

DAD: Let your Spirit rest upon them in their love for each other and in signs of your love, justice, and peace to all women and men. Make their home a model of your self-giving. Make their work and study a sign of your care for the world.

MOM: Bless them with length of days that they may see their children’s children and continually sing your praises.

DAD: Blessed are you, O Lord our God, for you have made Christ, our Lord, in whose name we pray, now and always and forever and ever.
