Deposit Policy

A USD$1,000.00 deposit is required to hold and confirm the wedding date. This deposit will be applied to the total cost of the package or will be applied towards any upgrades that the couple adds on. If the couple chooses not to purchase any additional amenities for the wedding itself, the credit may be applied toward any room charges upon check out (phone charges, spa treatments and logo shop purchases). If for any reason this credit is not used in full, the remaining balance will be refunded in the form of the original payment.

Cancellation Policy

The wedding can be canceled six or more months prior to the confirmed date without penalties. If the wedding is canceled within six months, the non - refundable deposit will be kept as a penalty. If the wedding is canceled, but the couple still travels as planned, the deposit can then be applied toward any additional room charges made during their stay.

Policy on Damages and Losses

The property does not assume responsibility for any items, personal or professional, brought onto the resort prior to, during or after the wedding event. These include, but are not limited to, floral arrangements, decorations or equipment. The wedding couple is responsible for all non resort guests while they are on property attending the event.


Legal Requiments Republica Dominicana

Symbolic Weddings

No paperwork is required for a symbolic wedding.

Legal Weddings The all the documentation required by Dominican Law in order to get legally married in the Dominican Republic. Is the following:

• Birth Certificate of Bride and Groom or certified copy of Birth certificate. If parents’ names are not shown on the certificates, please indicate them separately. • Notarized Declaration of Single status for the Bride and Groom. If previously married, submit two copies of the Divorce Decree or Death Certificate. There is a mandatory waiting period for women, 10 months before they are legally allowed to remarry. • A photocopy of Bride and Groom’s Passport. • Photocopies of all Witnesses Passports. Cannot be family members. • Bride & Groom must be in the country 3 business days prior to the wedding.

All documents must be translated and legalized by the Dominican Consulate prior to arriving in the Dominican Republic, except for the Passports. The documents should be legalized by the Dominican Consulate no more than 3 months prior to the wedding date. It is the couple’s responsibility to have all the documentation ready prior to the wedding.

The Judge is an outside service provided by the Dominican Government. We cannot be held responsible for any delay or alteration.

The Judge will duly register your Wedding Certificate at the Central Civil Board and legalize it with the Foreign Affairs Department of the Dominican Republic. We will then send the Wedding Certificate to the couple via mail which may take up to 15 weeks.

The Civil Wedding is celebrated in Spanish. If necessary, Grand Resorts at Cap Cana will provide English translators at an additional charge. Your marriage certificate will be sent to you in Spanish, you will then need to have it translated and legalized into English.
