I’m so I’m so excited that you’re thinking about booking with me, but before we go any further, you should know a bit about me! Coming from a family of 11, I am always ready for an ad-venture – believe me, the family car rides to North Carolina alone have prepared me for just about anything your wedding day might throw my way. I really love people and capturing the essence of who they are, so about 5 years ago I picked up a camera and started shooting portrait work, which progressed into weddings photography. In those five years, I’ve traveled across the country shooting weddings and meeting some of the most incredible people with the most amazing lothe most amazing love stories. A few facts about me; I love coffee, even as this is being written I may or may not be on a 2nd cup and it’s only 2PM. I find myself dancing more often than not, but let’s be honest, when that song comes on and you’re all by yourself you do too ;) I may mention donuts or Brooklyn 99 more than once, but it’s probably just be-cause I’m not talking about Parks and Rec and my love for Washington. Before deciding on being a photographer, I seriously considered being a makeup artist and I’ve found myself more than once applying a bride’s false eyelashes. I have an endless love for Jesus Christ and I owe everything to him. In the end I’d say that I’m an incredibly passionate person

who loves people and devotes myself 100% to whatever task I set out on.

YYou can expect a passionate photographer and friend who will not make you into something for photos but rather capture who you are. You can expect to feel special, comfortable, and cherished. You can expect to be complimented over and over again. You can expect laughter, kisses, cuddles, and quiet moments. You can expect to be asked to get a little wet or climb a little higher. You can expect to have a memorable time and receive unique images that capture who you are. When you look through your photos my greatest goal as a photographer is to make you feel - feel beautiful, feel

love, feel nostalgic.

It’s an excuse for lots of kissing and doing your favorite things with your favorite person – what’s not to like?! Most likely, you haven’t been in front of the professional lens in a while; if at all. This is a great opportunity to loosen up for your wedding day and experience how fun it is to be photographed. What I love about engagement sessions is that we can really go crazy and personal-ize it! From an at home session with you in your comfy sweaters cuddling on the couch, to hiking the forests for a little picnic by the water, we can make an adventure of it! This session allows me to get to know you and you to know me. By spending this time with you and getting to know all yyour quirks and hearing your love story first hand, we can cultivate an awesome friendship which will really influences the way I’ll shoot your wedding! Not only will we be best friends by the end of it, but you will understand my shooting style and how I work which is super important for your

wedding day.

// Stay away from logos – they are often distracting and take away from you two!// Do get your makeup done or go the extra mile with your makeup – makeup shows up much lighter in photos and getting it professionally done is SO worth it!//Avoid matchy-matchy outfits – Think about it as if you’re going to an event together – your outfits should feel like you’re both dressed for the same occasion. // Do wear prints and statement pieces – It// Do wear prints and statement pieces – It’s that time you can wear that outfit that you’ve been wanting to wear but not exactly sure if it’s “too much”// Do wear something that matches your personality and don’t be afraid to be quirky!// Do accessorize – That belt and watch really step up his outfit and your necklace and headpiece amps it up your dress.

The more you express your personality through your clothing the better the photos will be and the more inspiration I can grab from you two. Feel free to show up in a floral crown or epic gown, just be yourself and wear what you feel comfortable with! If you are struggling with choosing from a few different outfits, feel free to send me some photos of your options and I am more than willing to help - that’s what I’m here for! Confidence is every-thing in photographs, so wear that outfit that makes you feel like a million dollars.

WHAT TO WEAR

There’s really no correct time of year to schedule your session, it all depends on the season and look you want. The best time for a shoot is either early morning around sunrise or a few hours before the sun sets. If possible, I suggest booking your engagement session during the week – availability is more open and most locations are a ton less crowded!

SCHEDULING

Engagement sessions are meant to be as epic as your love, so let’s make sure the location does justice to that! Try to avoid monuments and landmarks and make it more personal by thinking about some of your favorite things to do and places to go. For me, I really love the mountains, drinking coffee, and cuddling so I might want to hike up to the top of a mountain and brew up some coffee with the love of my life while enjoying a cuddle session. For you, it might be that you love to canoe together, so let’s rent a canoe and make a go of it! You want to get cozy in a VW van? We’ll find a way to do that! YouYou’re both foodies? Let’s go to the colorful farmers market and then cook up something in your kitchen. Let’s just do something crazy that screams who you are as a couple and have lots of fun while doing it!

CHOOSING A LOCATION

// If you’re looking to save a bit of cash, schedule your hair and makeup trial the same day as the bridal session! That way you can also see how it photographs and what works or doesn’t work. // To have a bit of versatility in your images and amp it up, you can have your makeup artist tag along and half way through add a bright lip color or smoke up the eyes a bit.// Fl// Flower crowns, headpieces, and bouquets always spice it up. Just go for it!// Choosing a minimalistic location is awesome because all the attention is then focused on you. I’ve worked in several all-white rooms and the results have always been amazing// // There are countless ways to go with the session - if you want to go rustic, we can find a nice field or barn. If you want to go edgy, let’s tromp around an epic city!

Morning and evening light is the best time for photos – let’s enjoy the sunrise together or shoot a few hours before sunset. In order to allow enough time for me to edit your images I suggest booking your bridal session at least 2 months out from your wedding. I do shoot on weekends, however the availability on the weekdays is much more open (and the plus side is that places will be less crowded).

SCHEDULING

EEver since you were a girl, you’ve dreamed of the moment when you find that perfect dress and walk down the aisle to say I do. Wedding days are often hectic and fast paced and usually only allow a few minutes to grab portraits of you. I truly love bridal sessions because it’s a relaxed time when you can just enjoy how beautiful you feel and get some incredible portraits that capture that. Not only is this a loa lovely gift for your soon-to-be husband, it’s such an wonderful gift to yourself! Let’s just put it on the table, as a bride you feel absolutely divine and I want to document that!

It is one of the most exciting and monumental days in your entire life. It’s the day where you bind your heart to another’s and say forever and always. Hiring a photographer is an investment that gives back for decades to come. You may be thinking that it is just far too expensive, but your dress will sit in a box, your flowers will wither, your cake will be de-voured, and the only thing you have to hold on to for the rest of your life is your love and the photos to help you remember it. These images are not only for you and for now, but they are for the generations to come and the visual legacy that you give to them.

One of my favorite memories as a child was going down to the deepest parts of the basement and pulling out these huge bins with hundreds of photos and just going one by one looking at all the memories my parents made. I gazed at how perfect my mom looked in her dress and how sweet my dad’s smile was as he looked at his radiant wife. In those mo-ments I realized the priceless worth of images and my love for wedding photography grew from there.

It’s so important that you love my work and my style because if you trust my creative vision I guarantee you will have beautiful images. I am totally open to image suggestions and ideas but it’s really key that I have the creative reigns to go with my gut. About 99.9% of the images I post on social media were made when my couples let me go with my creative vision and trusted my eye!

WWhile I enjoy traditional weddings, I’m especially passionate about out of the box weddings, elopements and destination weddings. I will travel to just about anywhere! Whether it’s the beaches of Hawaii, the mountaintops of Washington, or the busy streets of Paris, I am very enthusiastic about destination weddings! For out of state weddings, I require that you either add on or choose a package that includes a second shooter.
