Let me be the first to say WELCOME to Expressions Dance Academy! We are so excited that you have chosen to make Expressions Dance Academy your dance home! It is a privilege and honor to introduce and cultivate the love of dance to each child. Our goal here at Expressions is to mentor and teach your
children lifelong values through the medium of dance such as self-discipline, overcoming challenges, striving for personal excellence, learning respect for themselves and others, and realizing how valuable they are as unique individuals. With a professional but welcoming atmosphere, our hope is that you and your child’s time with Expressions will be one of growth, joy and wonderful memories. TUITION
• Tuition is due the 15th of each month. You WILL NOT be receiving a monthly bill/statement from our office for your monthly tuition.
• A $10.00 late fee will be added to overdue fees. • Forms of payment accepted include:
o Cash, C.C. and Check o C.C. charges do include a Service Charge per transaction o Check (Please note there will be a $25.00 Insufficient Funds Fee for returned
checks) • Please make checks to Expressions Dance Academy. When making a payment by check,
please include the following information in the memo of your check. 1. Student(s) First & Last Name. 2. State what you are paying for. A receipt is available upon request.
• No adjustments, credits or transfers will be made for missed lessons.

CALENDAR AND HOLIDAY CLOSINGS
• The studio operates on a nine-‐month dance season averaging three to four classes per month. (considering holiday closings, performances and dress rehearsals). Tuition is the same for each month including May. The season officially begins Monday August 28TH, 2017 and ends Sunday May 13th, 2018
§ Please note: The Spring Concert Dress Rehearsals and Spring Concert Performance COUNT AS ONE LESSON EACH.
§ CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY AUGUST 28TH, 2017 Expressions will be following the Hobbs Municipal Schools in cancellation of class due to bad weather only. If a class is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the instructor may, but is not obligated to, offer a make-‐up class. SPRING AND CHRISTMAS CONCERTSSS For the 2017/2018-‐dance season, Expressions will be performing the Christmas Ballet “A Christmas Carol” and two Spring Concerts. All performances take place at the Hobbs High School Tydings Auditorium. The Christmas performance will be ballet students ONLY (this does NOT include the creative movement or combo classes). The Spring Concerts include ALL Expressions’ dancers and are split up into Concert #1 Intermediate/ Advanced Levels and Concert #2 Primary/Beginner Levels (Please note that some students will be asked to participate in both spring concerts if they are in an intermediate level for one subject and beginner level for another subject). Please see below for performance details. ALL DANCERS PARTICIPATING IN A PERFORMANCE MUST ATTEND THEIR DRESS REHEARSAL (S). PLEASE DO NOT ASK TO BE THE EXCEPTION.

Performances: TBD (POSSIBLE SATURDAY DEC. 16 3PM) SAT. DEC. 16, 7pm SUN. DEC. 17 3pm *PLEASE NOTE: A FEW SATURDAY REHEARSALS FOR YOUR CHILD’S PART ARE LIKELY. REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY.
2018 SPRING CONCERTS Participants: All Expressions’ Dancers MANDATORY FULL DRESS REHEARSAL Please note: duration of the rehearsal will depend on how quickly we can get started and how smoothly transitions go. Thank you for your patience ahead of time. THURS. MAY 10- TBA FRI. MAY 11- TBA SAT. MAY 12- TBA (Rehearsal times are subject to change) Performances: Concert #1: Int./ Advanced Levels SAT. COSTUMES
§ Costumes fee is $55.00-‐$65.00 per student per class depending on size of costume. There is no costume fee for the Christmas Show.
§ Costume fees must be paid in FULL by December 21st, 2017. § COSTUMES WILL NOT BE ORDERED UNTIL PAYMENT IS MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
§ Depending on the costume manufacturer, costumes take 2 weeks-‐3 months to come in.
§ Expressions will NOT order any costumes after January 12th, 2018 to meet recital deadline.
§ COSTUME FEES ARE NON-‐REFUNDABLE; COSTUMES ARE NON-‐RETURNABLE.
§ If alterations are necessary, Expressions assumes no financial responsibility. § Expressions is not responsible for a lost costume(s). Dancers are responsible
for costumes once received in class.
TICKETS AND SEATING
§ Tickets must be purchased for all 2017/2018 Fall and Spring performances. § Seats are assigned. Tickets can be purchased online at
www.expressionshobbs.com.
§ Tickets are non-‐refundable and non-‐exchangeable.
ATTENDANCE
• Class attendance is PRIORITY in a student’s progress and technical development. Excessive absenteeism will disqualify a dancer from participating with his/her class (es). All students performing must have at least 75% DANCING attendance (1 absence per month). Students unable to attain the 75% DANCING attendance due to illness/ injury/ or other activities are subject to dismissal from performances and class. If a student is more than 10 minute late to class, it will be considered an absence. No exceptions.
PROGRAM AD
• Expressions will be selling AD space to businesses and individuals for both Spring Concerts. Sales will begin January 15th, 2018.
• It is required that all proper forms are filled out and the AD be paid for at time of reservation to ensure your AD space.
LOST & FOUND
§ The Lost & Found will be located in the hallway in front of Expressions’ office. Items not picked up will be donated to charities on a quarterly basis. To avoid losing personal items, we encourage all dancers to LABEL all shoes, tights, leotards, dance bags etc. Expressions is not responsible for any lost or stolen articles.
REGISTRATION FOR CURRENT AND NEW STUDENTS
• Registration for current students begins April. Following the May recital, Expressions will begin enrolling new students and will not be able to secure a spot for a current student. Re-‐register before dress rehearsals!!
OTHER RULES AND REQUESTS § If a student has two unexcused consecutive absences without notifying the office, s/he will be
notified by the office and must reply within 48 hours. If no reply within 48 hours, dancer will be suspended from class (es) until notified. Please note your account will continue to be charged until notified formally by a parent.
§ Be punctual! If a dancer is ten minutes late to dance class, s/he may not be able to participate in class. If the dancer is habitually tardy, a conference will be scheduled with parent.
§ All students are encouraged not to leave the room once class has begun. Please allow for appropriate restroom use prior to class. Very young children will be treated sensitively as the need arises. Preschool children may need a parent’s attention from time to time for various reasons including bathroom or behavior issues. Please do not leave the waiting room when very young children are in class without informing the office or having another parent responsible during your absence. We make every effort to have all children feel safe and cared for in a loving and inspiring learning environment.
§ Instructors, staff, assistants and dancers are the only individuals allowed in dance studios during class hours. We are asking non-‐dancing siblings, friends, visitors, relatives and parents to stay in the waiting area. The only exceptions to this are Parent Watch Days and pre-‐scheduled visits.
§ No cell phones or other toy/distraction in dance class. Be respectful of instructor and other dancers. Give full attention to instructor.
§ School age children and teens: please practice respect. Students are not to be socializing in a disruptive manner during the class with other students. Please come early or stay late to enjoy friends in the waiting area. Please honor your teacher and fellow students by giving full attention and co-‐operation. You will be advised if we feel any student is not well adjusted to the classroom environment for any reason over time.
§ During class if a student complains of being ill, or sustains an injury and cannot participate, the instructor will send them to the office where the parents will be notified if not on the premises.
§ Only students with a pre-‐existing sickness/injury are allowed to observe class. The parents must notify the office if a student is to observe class.
• Expressions reserves the right to refuse service and/or admission. Expressions solely determines class level and placement of students. Evaluations are ongoing; dancers may be moved to proper level(s) at any time during the dance season. Final decisions are made by the teachers and director. All students are encouraged to progress at their own rate. The instructor will notify a student if s/he is ready move to the next level.
§ Please only water and dry non-‐peanut snacks! Please bring bottle water to class. The church does not have a water fountain.
• Young children must always be attended and supervised. • ANY BEHAVIOR, ON THE PART OF DANCER OR PARENT, DEEMED INAPPROPRIATE
BY FACULTY AND/OR INSTRUCTOR WILL BE GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL
• Expressions is not responsible for lost items. To avoid losses, we recommend that all belongings be clearly labeled.

§ Please adhere to dress code. Proper attire for class is required at all times. Incomplete or improper dress, including hair, is cause for immediate dismissal from class.
