FADE IN:

INT. PRESIDENT'S HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

PRESIDENT KIM WHITE WONG sits at the desk

AGENT SKAAR bursts into the room.

SKAAR

Mr. President! We've just received word

that the Anders are preparing to attack

Washington.

PRESIDENT WONG

What do we know?

SKAAR

That's all so far.

PRESIDENT WONG

What are our options?

SKAAR

Well, you can...

Skaar notices a shoe box in the corner of the room.

SKAAR

Mr. President... get behind me.

President Wong stands up and jumps behind Skaar.

PRESIDENT WONG

(whispering)

What's wrong Agent Skaar?

Skaar points at the shoe box.

PRESIDENT WONG

Where did that come from?

The shoe box launches at Skaar revealing itself to be Alan. Alan hits Skaar in the

stomach and disappears.

SKAAR

(yelling)

Get the President out of here!

Five AGENTS rush into the room. Two of them grab President Wong and rush him outof the room. Skaar is punched in the face by an invisible force.

NOTE: Skaar and the other agents fight with Alan who keeps teleporting, throwing stuff

at them, and knocking them around with his telekinesis. Eventually Alan defeats all of

the agents except for Skaar.

Alan sits on the edge of the bed and Skaar gets up from off the floor. Skaar pulls out his

gun and points it at Alan. SUDDENLY Skaar's gun starts getting pulled around by an

invisible force. The gun flies out of Skaar's hands and lands next to Alan on the bed. It's

pointing at Skaar.

ALAN

(yelling)

Death to humans!

CUT TO BLACK:

The SOUND of a gunshot.

FADE IN:

INT - THE SEQUENTIAL DETECTIVE AGENCY - NIGHT

Smolder, Drake, Jeff, and Scullery are all standing around the desk.

SMOLDER

Are they attacking the state or are they

going to attack Washington DC?

SCULLERY

Ryanne said they were attacking thethe state.

JEFF

Why would they attack the state?

Smolder closes his eyes

DRAKE

That's not where the government people

hang out.

SCULLERYMaybe they're just confused.

Smolder opens his eyes.

SMOLDER

The President was just attacked in his

hotel room in Washington and they're

in the process of relocating him to a nearby

bunker.

Drake, Jeff, and Scullery all look shocked.

SCULLERY

Are you serious?

SMOLDER

Of course. If I wasn't being serious I'd have

said, Three children fall into a well and one,

says "Oh no! We're dead."

DRAKE

That's a weird non-sequitur joke.

SCULLERY

How did you figure... oh wait.

SMOLDER

Yeah, I used my thingamajig.

(pauses)

I have a feeling Alan was the one who attacked

the President.

Scullery sits down in the nearest chair.

SCULLERY

No!

SMOLDER

I don't know for a fact that he did it.

Scullery stands up again.

SCULLERYOh good.

SMOLDER

But he probably did do it.

Scullery punches Smolder in the arm.

SCULLERY

You know how I don't like emotional

roller coasters Smolder!

SMOLDER

Sorry. I can't detect where Alan is, right?

Scullery nods her head. Drake gets Jeff's attention and gestures to the couch. They

walk over to it, sit down, and start thumb wrestling.

SMOLDER

Well I felt like I couldn't sense him in

Washington.

SCULLERY

That doesn't make any sense!

Jeff and Drake start getting really aggressive while thumb wresting. They stand up on

the couch.

SMOLDER

It does because I got the same feeling

I get when I try to locate him. This sense of

emptiness... it's hard to explain but it reallyseems like he was there in the room with

the President.

(pauses)

Did you know the President was Asian?

Drake yanks on Jeff's arm, accidently throws him to the floor, and then falls on top of

him.

SCULLERY

I did not.

SMOLDERWow... we're really out of touch with the

world.

Jeff and Drake stand up. They look a little disoriented.

SCULLERY

Yeah...

Drake CLEARS his throat and Smolder and Scullery look over at him and Jeff.

JEFF

Well it's been fun but you guys are

kind of ignoring me and Drake so we're

gonna get out of here.

DRAKE

We are?

JEFF

Yeah.

DRAKE

Oh right... because of what we said in the

last episode.

Jeff, Scullery, and Smolder give Drake a weird look.

JEFF/SMOLDER/SCULLERY

What?

DRAKEYou know. We decided to become friends

again even though I can't remember ever

being friends with you originally.

JEFF

What'd you mean by "the last episode"?

DRAKE

Ever since I got sucked into an episode of

A Mystification of Subterfuge I've started

thinking of our lives as a big TV show.

SMOLDER

That's just silly... none of this would ever

have been allowed on TV. It's just too weird.

I could maybe see it as a webseries.

JEFF

(to Drake)

Are you being serious?

DRAKEYep. It's a pretty interesting story.

Drake puts his arm around Jeff and they start walking out the door.

DRAKE

It all started when I decided to argue

with the TV.

Drake and Jeff leave.

SCULLERY

That was weird.

Scullery sits on the desk.

SCULLERY

You know what Smolder? Drake is

starting to remind me of you.

(pauses)

Well you before you rescued me from

Felix Callkadawn.

Smolder sits on the desk next to Scullery.

SMOLDER

So you think I've changed.

Smolder looks Scullery in the eyes.

SCULLERY

Yeah. You're more focused and serious

and you've become a really good leader.

SMOLDER

Really?

Scullery looks away from Smolder and down at the floor.

SCULLERY

Yep. I don't feel like I need to take

care of you anymore.

Smolder nudges Scullery shoulder with his shoulder.

SMOLDER

I liked it when you took care of me.

Scullery looks up at Smolder again.

SCULLERY

Well you're not perfect. You've still got

some problems.

SMOLDER

Like what?

Scullery looks away again.

SCULLERY

You'll always need me.

SMOLDER

That doesn't seem like a problem to

me.

Scullery slides off the desk and sits in the chair in front of Smolder.

SCULLERY

Felix Callkadawn thought it was a problem.

SMOLDER

Well Felix Callkadawn's a stupid bitch.

SCULLERY

It said I made you weak.

Smolder hops off the desk and walks over to the window. Scullery turns in the chair to

follow him. Smolder turns to face Scullery

SMOLDER

Have we seriously not talked about this

until now?

SCULLERY

We never really had an opportunity to discuss

what happened. You had to save Drake fromdying in his dreams and then you had to save

the world.

SMOLDER

We could have talked about it after that.

Scullery stands up, walks over to the couch, and flops down on it.

SCULLERY

Talking about relationships just seems silly

after you've helped save the world from a

magical computer virus.

Smolder sits down next to Scullery.

SMOLDER

I don't care. Let's talk about it right now.

SCULLERY

Okay.

They both pause for a moment.

SMOLDER

Do you really believe that you make me

weak?

SCULLERY

Sort of.

Smolder grabs Scullery's hands and holds them tight.

SMOLDERWell it's not true. You give me strength just

by being around. You're what keeps me going.

When you were taken away from me I gave up.

Remember that funny story about me and Alan

and that crazy church?

SCULLERY

Yeah.

SMOLDERWe didn't tell you the whole story. I accidently

let a client get killed by birds.

SCULLERY

I was wondering why you refused to explain

what happened to Butte Facade after that.

SMOLDER

The point is I was lost without you. Alan, Drake,

and Jeff all had to push me in the right direction

to find you. And when I knew I had a chance of

getting you back I was able to stand on my own

two feet and save you.

SCULLERY

So you're saying that "knowing you could

save" me helped you save me?

SMOLDER

Yeah... it was sort of like John Connor

sending his dad back in time to make surehe'd be born so he could send his dad back

in time.

SCULLERY

It's nothing like that.

SMOLDER

Then whatever...

(pauses)

What I'm trying to say is... you're the thread

that holds me together.

Scullery looks down at Smolder's hands holding her hands.

SCULLERY

What's going on?

Smolder looks down at their hands and then let's go of Scullery's hands.

Smolder

I don't know.

They both start laughing.

SCULLERY

For a second there I thought--

SMOLDER

I know!

SCULLERY

That was weird.

SMOLDER

Yeah. Washington is in trouble and we

were just like--

SCULLERY

It's crazy.

They slowly stop laughing.

The phone RINGS.

Scullery quickly jumps up and answers it.

SCULLERY

(into phone)

Hello?

Really? Okay just a second.

Scullery turns to Smolder.

SMOLDERWho is it?

SCULLERY

It's Arkham.

Smolder looks shocked.

SMOLDER

From the FBI?

Scullery nods her head.

SMOLDER

What's he calling me for?
