Adoption Is On The Rise As The Customer Experience Takes Off
• Now customers want e-signatures.
• Modernization, mobility, and demographics are pushing e-signature adoption.
• Compliance can have a positive impact on paper-based processes.
• Technology increases the speed of order and cash flow.
• Overlapping regulatory guidelines.
• Documents with a downstream afterlife.
• Underestimating complexity.
• Confusion about the tools to use.
But Barriers Remain

What We Found
• Clearly visible efficiencies
• Improved customer experience — but still work to do. –Today, the e-signing "ceremony" often involves loading or
manipulating a document, entering PINs, or dealing with more advanced techniques for authentication.
–Over time the ceremony will get easier. Signing security may require only a key or a token — using global position systems (GPS), IP address, and other artifacts not used today transparently extracted from the process.
• Despite headcount and customer experience benefits, some industries still resist efficiencies.

What We Found
•Embedded solutions work really well for many needs.
–The majority of e-signature solutions referenced start with a document set produced from a core system or packaged app.
•The e-signature market will focus more on process and less on signing.
•Control, governance, and ROI grows with an enterprise approach.
