Week October 17th- October 21st

The weather is getting colder and we are now starting to line up inside. Students are expected to be at a zero when in the gym so please make sure they are keeping a book in their backpack to read at that time. We are still going outside for recess so please make sure your child is bringing a jacket.

This week we learned

Word Work/Writing:

This week in writing we have been reading personal narratives and brainstorming ideas that we could write a personal narrative about. We made lists of people we love, places we love, and things we love about ourself. Next week we will choose something from one of these lists and write another personal narrative about it.

Reading:

This week in reading we learned how to summarize a book. We talked about how a summary is like a movie preview. When summarizing a book we want to explain what the book is about without retelling the whole book. This way people will know what its about and want to read it to

Math:

This week in math we tok our unit 2 math test. We learned what a number model/number sentence is and practiced writing them. We continue to practice facts within 10.

Social Studies/Science:

This week in science we finished our listening walk around the school. We listened to all the different sounds and then talked about how sounds can be soft, loud, high, low, long, and short.
