Parents As Teachers is FREE and VOLUNTARY program offered by your local school district for any parent with a child, prenatal, to 3. P.A.T. provides parents with support and information on child development to assist parents in their role as the child’s first teacher. This program involves parents in learning activities with their child that encourage language and intellectual growth, physical and social-emotional skills.

Personal Home Visits-by a certified parent educator every 5-6 weeks, scheduled at your convenience.
Group Meetings-opportunities for parents to get together to gain new insights and to share experiences. Periodic events are planned with either a special speaker presenting or a parent-child activity.
Screening-provided periodically to check overall development, language, hearing and vision. Screening can be done Wednesday 9:00 AM-11:00 AM (when school is in session)
Play Group-meets weekly and provides and opportunity for parents to use the materials and equipment to play with their children, to visit other parents and to check out items from the Resource Library.
Resource Library-a wonderful collection of books, audio tapes, video tapes and toys for infants and toddlers as well as parenting books, magazines and videos. These are all available for check-out at home visits or during play group times.
Referrals-to other community services if needed.

Head Start is a nationwide federally funded pre-school program designed to ensure that all pre-school children, especially those from low-income families and children with disabilities, have the skills to succeed in Kindergarten and future school experiences. Full-day and half-day classes from Monday through Thursday for 9 months.
