Becoming Canadian: The Comic Strip In this assignment you will create a comic strip, story board, cartoon sequence (be imaginative) which tells the story of your “Potential Canadian” after they are granted entry into Canada. So, the story continues. In creating this comic strip or creative illustrative expression of the story (of some kind) please consider each step of the process that we looked at in “Read Maple Leaves”. The Criteria: You will have to create a story about your Canadian’s journey upon and after arrival from Canada. You can be creative in terms of how this is displayed, but it needs to be in some illustrative format. It can be drawn by hand or done technologically. I encourage you to “think outside the box” when it comes to the format in which this is presented. There needs to be 8-10 frames if doing a story board/comic. However, if you prefer to think outside the box you simply need to ensure that all elements of the settlement story are covered. Elements of Your Settlement Story: Please see “Read Maple Leaves” sheet for the elements which should be included in your illustrative settlement story. The final product: Hard copies, in whatever they’re form should be submitted in hard copy. If you do your illustrative settlement story by hand, it is expected to fit on an 11x17 sheet of paper. If you do this via some form of technological interface, I would ask that it at least takes up an 8x10 piece of paper Should you wish to complete this assignment via a technological interface, you may want to consider the following: o Make Belief Comcis: MakeBeliefsComix.com o Strip Generator: http://stripgenerator.com/strip/create/ o Story Board That: https://www.storyboardthat.com/storyboard-creator o Canva: https://www.canva.com/create/comic-strips/ o One of your own choosing.
