Testing my client- Biomechanical – 35m sprint to test speed (sec) Try 1 = 5.92 Try 2 = 5.98 Try 3 = 5.96 Comparing my clients best score to a normative data table online has shown that the speed my client has is fair for females. As a full back she needs a high level of speed to be able to keep up and jockey a winger as well as overlap her winger to help with an attack. This therefore needs to be improved as will be one of my main 3 priorities for her training programme. Physical – Vertical jump with run up and single leg take off (cm) Try 1 = 41.66 Try 2 = 42.16 Try 3 = 40.39 Comparing my clients best score to a normative data table shows that the power my client has is average for a female aged 16-19 and using the Lewis formula online it shows her power score is 705 Watts. Power is very important when it comes to defensive headers and as a full back this is a crucial part of her role therefore improving the power in her leg muscles will be one of my top three priorities. Physiological – Heart rate recovery (bpm) HR before = 88 HR immediately after = 142 1 min after = 122 2 min after = 100 3 min after = 100 4 min after = 94 5 min after = 88 6 min after = 88 This test shows that it takes my clients heart rate 5 minutes to return to resting rate after 3 minutes of intense exercise

Physiological – Heart rate recovery (bpm) HR before = 88HR immediately after = 1421 min after = 1222 min after = 1003 min after = 1004 min after = 945 min after = 886 min after = 88This test shows that it takes my clients heart rate 5 minutes to return to resting rate after 3 minutes of intense exercise where her heart rate was within 60-80% of the target zone (220-age). Her resting heart rate was taken twice before exercising and both of these times it came out at 88bpm. Normative data tables online show that for a female under 25 a resting heart rate of 88bpm is poor. Being able to recover from exercise is very important for any game so therefore needs improving and will be one of my main 3 priorities on the training programme.

Tackling is a key part of football and as a defender it is the biggest aspect of her role and therefore a very important priority. My clients tackle success rate is over 80% in both games and this is a good score so I will not be improving this during the training programme.

Positioning is a big part of any team game as it creates options and space. My clients positioning in relation to her opponent and surrounding team mates (centre back and right winger) is excellent; she is in the correct position over 90% of the time therefore this doesn’t need improving during the training programme and isn’t one of my main priorities.

Psychological –

Stress, arousal and anxiety are terms used to describe this competitive anxiety. Therefore a SCAT test is the best way to test for arousal levels. My client scored 17 on her SCAT test which means she has average levels of anxiety which is good for a game of football as she doesn’t want to be over or under aroused. As her arousal levels are ‘normal’ this won’t be one of my top 3 priorities and won’t be worked on during the training programme.
