When set the project to make a Street fighter character we were given a gender and a country that our character had to be from, I had to make a Swedish woman. I decided to make a Viking lady or “Shield maiden”. The first design I made on paper using a pencil and then going over it with a marker when I was happy with it.

When designing it I used pictures of authentic Viking armour and helmets as a reference. You can see in my design that I took inspiration from the leg armour pieces and the design of a real Viking helmet rather than one with horns that real Vikings never wore.
