Newsletter January/February 2020
Welcome to our new parents who have joined us this term. A few children began their settling in session before Christmas and all are really getting into the swing of the sessions now!
This week we are celebrating Chinese New Year and The Year of the Rat, we will have our Chinese Restaurant/Take-away/Kitchen role play area out alongside lots of fun Chinese inspired crafts and there will even be some Chinese foods to try! Leanne from Pyjama Drama will be joining us on Wednesday afternoon for a CNY inspired session. We ask for a donation of £3 to cover the costs of this extra activity and thank you to parents who have already paid, knowing Leanne was coming in soon. The children get a lot out of these sessions and there are 3 more booked in this term.

Committee Members
We urgently need to start thinking about committee members for next September when almost all current members will step down from their roles. Ideally we need to think about someone to replace me as chair so we can have a smooth handover period. The preschool is doing really well and numbers-wise we are looking very healthy so it would be a shame not to be able to continue this great preschool next school year as it cannot run without a committee. Thank you to Zoe who has agreed to join the committee and is now starting the DBS process.
Smaller Steps Baby and Toddler Group
We have now been running this for a year and are having a little party in the session this Wednesday. There will be cake and refreshments and the usual singing and story session. We are really proud to run this for the community, it’s the only place to get your baby weighed (self-weighing) in the village and it’s a lovely chance to meet up with other parents and grandparents locally. Please do spread the word to anyone who might be interested in joining in. you can turn up any time and there’s no obligation to stay all session or come every week!
