Word Study Writing Math Geography and Science

o Students will receive their word study groups and lists on Monday. Students will have a quiz on their word study lists on Friday, September

o We will begin working on writing our first five paragr-aph essay.

o This week we will be studying various quadrilaterals, triangles, and a little bit of algebra (expressions and variables). Students will also practice finding the missing measurement of an angle in a quadrilateral and a triangle. There will be a quiz on Friday,

o We will continue to work on map skills in Geography.

o We will continue to work on the Scientific Method, and observations and inferences this week in Science. Students will have a quiz on these topics next Wednesday, September 19th.

Quiz Fridays: As a reminder, every Friday students will have three quizzes—grammar, math, and word study. Thank you for helping your child prepare for these quizzes at home, while we prepare for them in class. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The students really worked hard on last week’s quizzes.

Way to go!Students will begin word study groups. Similar to last week,

students will need to complete one word study assignment per night (Monday through Thursday) from their list of

choices. Students may complete a practice test on Thursday nights for their homework. On the test,

students will need to sort and spell the word correctly. I will also give them two new words

that follow the pattern that they will then sort.
