WELCOME, CHAPLAIN DENNIS KELLY & FAMILY!

Today we welcome back our very own Dennis Kelly and his beautiful family to First Baptist Church. It wasn’t that many months ago that Dennis retired after 20 years in the US Navy, most recently stationed here in Coronado, as a Chaplain alongside Chaplain Robert Bradshaw. Dennis will be preaching today in my absence. I am sure he will share some of the missionary adventures they have already had! Pat and I are in Florida seeing church members and friends from long ago.

Last Sunday was amazing! We had 140 in attendance, 22 new members were ratified by your Leadership Team, and we had an offering of just over $10,000 on “All Tithe Sunday!” To God be the glory, great things He has done!!! May I encourage you to continue what you have begun and put God first in your life – including your finances! Let’s give Him our best all year long!

I am looking forward to the apologetic series beginning next week with “Why Do I Believe in God?” We will explore what we believe and why we believe over the next 12 weeks. Peter encouraged us to “…be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear [reverence]…” 1 Peter 3:15. That is the goal of this new series. We will tackle such things as evolution, why does God allow suffering, and the Trinity! Be here for each week!

May God bless the First Baptist Church of Coronado today and every day! We miss you!
