English
Imagine a Setting
This is a scene from ‘Alice in Wonderland’. The surroundings seem so big, making Alice appear even smaller.
Imagine you were trapped in your school after you had been shrunk. Describe your journey from the door across the classroom. What dangers would you have to be careful of as a tiny person?
Challenge: Use a thesaurus to look up ‘big’ and ‘small’. (TOP TIP! If you are reading this on a computer, you can right click on the word and click ‘synonyms’ – this will give you lots of words with the same meaning!)
Use these sentence starters
As she looked up, …. In the middle of the path, …. Moving carefully,….. All around her, there were… Without a sound, she…
Here is an example
Alice in Wonderland
Alice was lost. She had been walking through this strange land for ages. It felt like forever! She came to a big gate. As she looked up, she could see….
Maths - Calculation:
Art: What is a pattern? Can you find examples of patterns around your house and copy them? You can also create your own patterns.
Science: Sketch an insect. Look at this link: https://levonbiss.com/collections/insect-portraits
Choose your preferred insect-portrait and try to look inside it and focus on the patterns you can see. Use any materials you have (pencils, pens, paint, crayons etc) to draw your own. Can you label the parts of the insect onto your drawing?
Next, do your research and write a fact file about your chosen insect.
Music: Go on YUMY and pick a song from 7-9 file. Pick one of your song from there (not a very easy one). You can enjoy listening to, singing and performing your favourite song from YUMU. Next, pick another great song which you may not be so familiar with. Sing along with the vocal line to begin with, and when you feel confident you can use the backing only option to become the soloist!
Mandarin: Learn to talk in Mandarin? Use Duolingo with your sibling/s or your parents to have a simple conversation in Mandarin. Write a question, listen to it, say/repeat it then write the answer and listen to it and repeat.
PE: See how many star jumps, jumping jacks and skips you can do in a minute. See if you can improve this score next time. Challenge yourself!
