Creation of Israel/Catastrophe

The help of the United States was helpful for the Jewish because their support were the

matters for them to verified the Jewish national home, Israel, in Palestine at 1917. In 1945, the

President Franklin D. Roosevelt make sure that United States will not make trouble or problem

between Arabs and Jews in the local area. British was the one who also hold the direction or

permission of colonial until May 1948. The Britain also wanted to make good relation with the Arabs

so they can protect the political and economic in Palestine. But the problem was happen which

making Palestine and Israel still fight with each other until today.

Now, Israel is the country were the most of population are Jewish people. They use to be a

small country in Palestine before. Then, most of Jewish people emigrate from other countries. Since

WWI and immigrate more in WWII. This making an increasing number of population. So, Israel

become big state over in Palestine.

To make it be more understandable, Israel just want to be Jewish state.

The Holocaust

Holocaust is one of the most popular historical event. It is the event included the Nazi and

Jewish people. Holocaust is a big change of Germany by estimating the Jews and treat them as the

animals in the concentration camp. This event is the cause of the World War II which mean that is

because a lot of people to suffered and died. It happened by the Nazi which has Adolf Hitler as the

dictator. The Nazi is cause of holocaust and make a lot of trouble to Jews. Finally, it lead them to a

gigantic amount of death.

In the World War II the Jewish began to move to the Palestine and protect themself from

their enemies. Jews created the Jewish Military to organize them and the city in Palestine. They

moved in and protected themself inside the Palestine. Soon they have tried to fight and protected

themself as the citizens in Palestine.

Western wall

The wall has been a site for Jewish prayer for centuries; the earliest source mentioning this

specific site as a place of worship is from the 16th century. The previous sites used by Jews for

mourning the destruction of the Temple. From the mid-19th century onwards, attempts to purchase

rights to the wall and its immediate area were made by various Jews, but none was successful. In the

early 20th century, the wall became a source of friction between the Jewish and Muslim

communities, the latter being worried that the wall could be used to further Jewish claims to the

Temple Mount and thus Jerusalem.

The western wall, also called the wailing wall or kotel, is a wall made of limestone in

Jerusalem. It is considered one of the holiest place to pray by Jews, as inside the wall lies the Temple

Mount.

Restaurant

Settle in at Manou ba Shouk, where Middle Eastern foods are served. This restaurant, in Ets

Khaim Street 29, is in the top three restaurant in Jerusalem, according to TripAdvisor. One of the

reviewers even said that he “loved the place” and that the foods are “fresh and tasty”.

Pita bread

Soft, flat bread made from wheat flour.

Originated around Mesopotamia and is now used in many Middle Eastern cuisines. There are many

ways to eat pita bread, one of them is to dip them in hummus.

Hummus

Or, in full, Hummus bi tahini.

Middle Eastern food dip made from cooked and mashed chickpeas. Blended with tahini (sesame

seeds), olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and garlic.

In Manou ba shouk, they have many different kinds of hummus, like hummus with granules,

meat, falafel (deep fried chickpeas), mushrooms, and boiled eggs.

Museum

Palestine Museum support and open Palestine culture, history, and society. Engaging new

perspective on Palestine. This museum will focus on promoting Palestine culture and nationalism,

uses culture tools for education purpose. Settle in Museum Street (off Omar lbn Al-Khattab Street),

Bitzeit. Workshop, led by international expert purpose is for understanding and enhance experience

about Israel history and culture. Audience will gain excited “knowledge and concept”.

Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque

Dome of the Rock is the oldest Islamic shrine. The Dome of the Rock was built by the

Umayyad caliph Abd al-Malik. It is Muslim shrine that was built over the sacred stone which believed

to be the place that Muhammad ascended to heaven. The Dome of the Rock is part of the larger

Islamic area known as the Noble Sanctuary. An impressive and beautiful place, the Dome of the Rock

can be seen from all over Jerusalem. Its doom appear above the Western Wall which believed that

Abraham offer his son to god.

the Sanctuary.

Via Dolorosa

Via Dolorosa or “Way of sorrow for the name in English. Via Dolorosa is the street in the old

city of Jerusalem, it has distance about 600 meters or 0.6 kilometers. Via Dolorosa is the place that is

really important to people who believed in Christianity where people crucified Jesus to redeem with

people sin which mean this is the place where Jesus died, so we refer Jesus as a symbol of

Christianity. We can travel to this place by using car which use average time about 1 hour and 7

minute to get to Via Dolorosa. This place have traditional stations.

Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) chairman Yāsir ʿArafāt, Rabin received the Nobel Prize for

Peace in 1994.

Yasser Arafat received the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10, 1994. The ceremony which was held

in Oslo, Norway, also saw Israel's Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres

joining in the prize. The three men were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize “for their efforts to create

peace in the Middle East”.
