KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE POST

Oversee all income from corporate organisations - including prospecting, stewardship and cultivation – to achieve annual targets (c. £250k 18/19) and maintain budget control and reporting functions

Organise a portfolio of fundraising and profile raising events for Cardboard Citizens to raise funds (c.£200k 18/19) and introduce our work to new audiences

Manage relationships with Development Board, celebrities and other high profile stakeholders to support company-wide fundraising

MAIN DUTIES

CORPORATE FUNDRAISING:The successful applicant will have demonstrable skills and experience successfully soliciting funds from corporate foundations; experience cultivating relationships, managing deadlines, producing high-quality written applications and reports, managing budgets and achieving financial targets.

Cultivate and steward key relationships with individuals within corporate organisations to encourage new and repeat corporate giving

Prospect, research, prepare and write applications to corporate foundations in support of Cardboard Citizens’ programme of activities – ensuring messaging is on brand, accurate and compelling

Proactively identify new areas for development, producing project specific copy and pitching to organisations

Identify corporate sponsorship opportunities and pitch the work of Cardboard Citizens in order to raise funds to support event and performance delivery

Oversee a funding pipeline to ensure targets are achieved, new leads are developed and application and reporting deadlines are met

EVENTSThe successful candidate will be required to organise and deliver all elements of fundraising and profile raising events at Cardboard Citizens. Cardboard Citizens’ events portfolio currently consists, but is not limited to, a biennial gala dinner, sporting events, art exhibition event and auction, and stakeholder drinks receptions.

Undertake feasibility studies for prospective events ensuring the successful delivery Strategic oversight of profile raising through events at Cardboard Citizens Planning the delivery and management of events including communication and invites with key

stakeholders Organisation of all logistical elements of events including management of; venue sourcing, catering, guest

lists, print promotional materials, auction prizes and staffing Manage key stakeholder relationships to ensure the successful delivery of all targets, involving key

personnel when required – staff, board and other key stakeholders Ensure administrative processes and best practice are consistently applied

OTHER DUTIES Develop and manage an external Development Board to support fundraising across Cardboard Citizens Budget and cash flow management for corporate fundraising and events Oversee Community fundraising responding to ad-hoc requests and proactively reaching out to community

groups Act as an advocate for Cardboard Citizens representing the charity at external and internal events when

required Ensure all data is recorded on the company database and the activities of the charity are GDPR compliant Work with the Development Manager and across the organisation to support individual giving and

stewarding key stakeholders

PERSON SPECIFICATION

At least three years’ fundraising experience in events management and/or corporate fundraising Excellent written skills are essential Significant experience of organising and delivering events Significant experience of managing and developing high profile relationships and soliciting funds Experience of devising, delivering, and monitoring fundraising strategies Excellent time management with the ability to multi-task to meet competing demands Experience of budget control and management Excellent communicator with the ability to engage and inspire a range of stakeholders Ability to work in a team and autonomously Interest in the arts and issues around homelessness
