THE QUALIFICATIONS: The Measurement Technician will be a detail oriented individual with a proactive attitude. They will be strong in statistics, mathematics and probabilities. The individual should be willing to look at and handle real/practical problems, as well as computer programs and simulations. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated self-starter who is comfortable working alone. They will need to seek solutions, take initiative and respond to change. This is a physical job, working in mill, office, and outdoor environments. The following qualifications are preferred: Skilled with relevant Microsoft Suite programs (Excel, Word, Access) Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mill or similar industrial setting Technically capable with some mechanical, electrical, or process experience ‘A’-level lumber grading ticket is a bonus THE DUTIES: Daily product quality assessments, by-product testing, accuracy and execution tests, lumber grading, and log quality checks Regular presence on the production shift looking for process opportunities Frequent data analysis and recommendations, including simulations and tests for improving the product, yield or value created Weekend inventory counts Infrequent travel involved to our sister mill in Saskatchewan
