The Siewers Architectural Products Show will be held Thursday October 10th!!! This is a MUST ATTEND EVENT!
Siewers Lumber Company is preparing for our bi-annual Architectural Products Show, which will be held at our facility on Thursday, October 10th. This year we will have 35 + vendors working the event to answer any and all of your questions. As in previous shows, Siewers will provide a catered meal prepared by Champagne Taste!
We will host Architects from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Contractors from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Please make this a company event.
For the architects and designers, we will host two AIA Certification Classes with a complimentary breakfast!

Gaining their loyalty is no small task considering they grew up with far more marketing platforms and messaging being thrown at them than the generation before them. Do you ever wonder what all these Home Improvement TV Shows are doing to our industry? I just read an interesting story about this subject and wanted to share some interesting points.
Reports and surveys have been done and there are some interesting findings. Most people start a project thinking they can complete it but find they lack the expertise, tools and/or time to complete the project. Unfortunately, there are also botched jobs and injuries.
According to research from ImproveNet, a website that helps consumers find reliable contractors, 1 in 12 damage their homes when they undertake a project that turns out to be more difficult than they envisioned. And to add insult to injury, 1 in 6 hurt themselves. Some 55% said the project just didn’t look good and turned out more expensive than they expected.
The home improvement television shows make things look so easy but don’t give a fair account of the work involved and what it takes to complete it. It is documented that on

these shows, local contractors do all the work and the stars come in for the next take. Ever wondered how they stay so clean?
Keep in mind this does help our industry. The professionals are called in to correct the problems and in most cases can also help you to “Ride in like the hero” and save the day.
President Signs Executive Order Addressing Housing Affordability
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has applauded President Trump for making housing a top national priority. With housing affordability near a 10-year low, the president’s executive order on this critical issue underscores that the White House is ready to take a leading role to help resolve the nation’s affordability crisis.
Given that homeownership historically has been the American Dream and a primary source of wealth for most American households, the need to tackle ongoing affordability concerns is especially urgent.
On June 25th in a ceremony at the White House, the President signed his executive order on housing affordability.
