Storytelling – Boring2Brilliant
Children are generally good storytellers. They use physical movement and gestures in their stories.
We think in stories. People can’t give time/money if they’re not feeling something and experiencing those facts. We do that through story.
Ex. someone feeling trust, safe, hope for the first time.
Less reporting words and more feeling words the better.
Gnarled leathery hands vs. hands with arthritis
Blend the statistics you want to share with stories. Asking people to share a story is an easier ask to make and hear.
Keep stories light i.e. conversational. Bring stories to life with word choices. Use kids to test story – they’ll tell you when it’s boring.
