It is with pleasure that Confederação Brasileira de Badminton invites your players to participate in the Yonex Brazil Open 2016, part of the BWF Grand Prix Series, to be held in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil from 30-August – 4 September 2016.
This tournament will be held in the Costa Cavalcante Venue and it is expected that qualifying (if required) will be played on 30th August and main rounds will commence on 31th August. This tournament is a BWF sanctioned Grand Prix event.

Entries: All players in the tournament will be deemed to have read and
accepted the conditions under which the tournament events are
to be conducted. The competition regulations of the BWF shall
apply.
The organisers will NOT be responsible for any injury sustained,
at any time, by any player or official arising from their
participation in this Tournament. Any costs incurred for medical
treatment and/or hospitalisation shall be borne by the Member
Association of the player/official concerned.
All International entries are to be submitted online by the
competitors National Badminton Association (M.A)

The online entry page will automatically close on Tuesday 26 July
2016 at 23:59 hours BWF Headquarters time and you are
required to submit the entries on time.
Late entries cannot not be accepted
After the closing date, the BWF Online Entry System will send a notification to all participating
Member Associations confirming receipt of final entries. Receipt of this notification is the
conclusive evidence of receipt of entries before the deadline.
The Member Associations should contact BWF immediately if such notice is not received by
the Wednesday (next day of the entries closing date) by noon BWF Headquarters time
following close of entries.
If no objection is received by BWF by Thursday (second day after the entries closing day) 23.59
hours BWF Headquarters time following the close of entries, the entries shall be deemed to be
correct. No complaints / objections shall be entertained after this point.

Sunday 28 and Monday 29 August – starts at 9:00 am
Costa Cavalcante Venue
Bookings are essential and must be on the official form which will be
circulated following the close of entries or with the tournament office.
Courts are subject to availability and on a first served basis. Tournament
transport will be provided to this venue for players and officials staying
at the BELLA ITALIA HOTEL.
As from Tuesday 30 August the courts are only for use by players
remaining in the tournament as warm-up courts. Players wishing to
practice must book courts at the practice venue, if applicable.

Qualification: Tuesday 30, commencing at 10:00 am. Start of play will be based on the
number of entries and will be published on the tournament website at

As per BWF regulations all countries to ensure they have a
representative at this meeting:
"It is compulsory that all team managers must attend the team
managers meeting. Failing to attend the meeting they are liable to be
fined as per regulation Part III Section 1B, Appendix 11 “Offences and
Penalties”. Member Associations can make a request someone to
represent them at the meeting as long as the Referee knows in advance
that is acceptable"

Note: The meeting times are tentative and subject to change
Transport: Official Airport: Foz do Iguaçu International Airport (IGU) - Cataratas
Transportation will be provided from official airport to the official hotel
upon request. Please complete and submit the flight details form (to
be distributed shortly).
This includes airport pick-up and drop-off and transport to practice.
Arrival flight details must be emailed to: [email protected],
until August, 19.
Departure flight details must be confirmed at least two working days in
advance.
Accreditation passes will clearly show who is entitled to tournament
transport – this will be strictly enforced.
Accreditation: Entry to the arena for the players, coaches and officials will be controlled
at the entrance so please carry your accreditation with you at all time.
The number of officials and coaches accreditation passes issued to each
team is dependent upon the size of your playing team.
Physiotherapists: Physiotherapists will be on duty throughout the competition at the
tournament venue. There will not be physiotherapists at the practice
hall.
Medical Insurance: CBBd encourage non-CBBd participants and the accompanying team
members to organize medical insurance before arriving in the Brasil.
CBBd is not responsible for medical expenses incurred during the
competition.
Visas: If a visa is required, please send your full name and number of your
passaport to Mr. Hilton Santos in e-mail [email protected].
Please ensure that you allow sufficient time for processing.
Video Recording & Photography: CBBd and the Tournament Organizers reserve the right take photos, film
material or any other image of players taken during events.
No unauthorized persons may enter the playing arena to video record or
take photos without the prior approval of CBBd or the Tournament
Organizers.
Flash photography is not permitted within the arena at any time. Video
recording is permitted for analytical purposes only, and only by
competing Member Associations. The Tournament Director and/or
Referee shall designate positions. Cameras operating outside of these
areas or without the correct accreditation may be removed. Camera
accreditation must be obtained in advance.
Member Associations may be liable for any costs incurred by BWF if
their video footage is used for any other purpose.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Regulations:
The tournament will be conducted in
accordance with the BWF GCR Grand Prix
Competition Regulations, Laws of
Badminton and RTTO.
2. Entries:
All players must be registered members of a
body affiliated with the BWF and must be
in good standing with their Member
Association.
3. Entries Close:
Entries close Tuesday 20 October, 2015,
23:59 hours BWF Headquarters time for
International entries and on midnight
Tuesday 27 October, 2015 for Brazilian
player entries.
4. Qualifying:
The organisers will restrict entries into all
events and reserve the right to have
qualifying rounds in any event.
5. Minimum Entry:
In accordance with BWF Handbook II for
World Ranking Points, if the minimum
number of entries is not met in an event,
that event will not be included in the
World Ranking.
6. Seeding:
The tournament seeding shall be done by
BWF.
7. Draws:
The draws will be conducted by the BWF on
Tuesday, 3 November 2015. The draw will
be made available online at BWF website
8. Scheduled Match Times:
Enquiries regarding starting times of matches
are the responsibility of entrants. The
timetable for the event will be placed on
the tournament website and in the venue.
The Referee has the power to disqualify any
player not available to play at the
scheduled time. Any alterations made to
the competition schedule due to
unforeseen circumstances will be
announced by the Referee.
9. Scoring System:
The Scoring System used will be in
accordance with the BWF regulations
and Live Scoring will be available on
Tournament Software.
10. Withdrawals:
Notification of withdrawal(s) with reason
must be given immediately to the
tournament organiser by email and
must be supported by a medical
certificate. The organisers may require
documentary evidence to support
withdrawals for any other reason. If
withdrawal arises after players have
arrived at the venue, notification of
withdrawal accompanied by supporting
documentation must be made IN
PERSON to the Referee or Deputy
Referee.
In accordance with the BWF Grand Prix
regulations 9.1 - If a player / pair who is
accepted into a tournament withdraws
from the entire tournament or any
event thereof for any reason
whatsoever within fifteen days before
the first scheduled match of the
tournament, the Member Association
entering the player / pair shall make a
payment of US$250 per player / pair to
the organisers for the inconvenience
caused by the withdrawal.
11. Shuttles:
Yonex AS50 shuttles will be used in the
tournament. Each player will be given
two (2) of these shuttles for training.
They will be issued to Team Managers
upon arrival at venue.
12. Drug Testing:
The BWF Anti-Doping Regulations apply at
this BWF sanctioned event. Drug testing
will be carried out by random and
targeted sample system according to
BWF regulations.
13. Clothing:
Players clothing and advertising on
clothing needs to be in accordance with
BWF Competition Regulations 19 to 23.
Players should ensure that they read
these regulations and that their
clothing complies with these.
