The NorKam Secondary Scholarship Committee will make the selections.

1. Bert Edwards PAC Award – 1 @ $500* Must be a former Bert Edwards Elementary student.

2. Brian Hitchens (A.E. Perry) Award – KF – 1 @ VARIES* Must be former A.E. Perry Elementary student, who plans to pursue post-secondary education.* Must have a C+ or higher average.* Involved in school and/or community activities - 70% Citizenship / 30% academics.

3. Brock Central Lions Club Bursaries – 4 @ $ 500* Two (2) Bursaries awarded for the trades* Two (2) Bursaries awarded for academics* Students must be planning to pursue full time studies at a post-secondary institution* Demonstrate school and community involvement as well as financial need

4. Brock Cooper's Foods – 1 @ $500* Interested in pursuing post secondary education in a business related field.* Community oriented individual.* Demonstrates great effort and work ethic.* Student must show proof of registration to a post-secondary institution.

5. Brock Middle School Scholarship – 4 @ $500* Must have attended and completed at least one full academic year at Brocklehurst Middle School * Minimum 73% average over the first three Grade 12 terms.

8. Interior Savings Credit Union Bursary – 1 @ $1000* ISCU member in good standing ___yes ____no; for at least 12 months ___yes ___no.* Student must exhibit financial need, good character and potential for their chosen field.* Students must be planning to pursue full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.Applicant names will be submitted to Interior Savings to determine eligibility for the award.

9. Josh Guido / Mike Young Memorial Bursary – KF – 1 @ VARIES* Candidate will have overcome adversity in their life.* Strong affiliation with the outdoors and/or love of animals.

10. Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club Scholarship Please complete separate application (page 14).* Must be involved with Community and School groups and/or activities.* Athletic Participation combined with community/school involvement an asset.* Must have maintained at least a C+ average.* Must be planning to pursue post-secondary studies (academic, trades or technical).

11. Kamloops Storm Academic Award – 1 @ $200* Must be a player on the Kamloops Storm Hockey team.* Have the highest marks in 3 of your academic courses.

12. Kamloops Rotary Bursary – 1 @ $500* This award is based on financial need.* Weighted as follows: Financial Need (60%), Academics (20%), Service & Citizenship (20%)* A cover letter that includes the following is required:

- A clear statement regarding future plans and goals: demonstration of service to the school and/or community; a clear statement how your school and/or community service experiences have influenced your life.

* Must be attending a post-secondary institution before September 2015.

13. Kamloops North Rotary Bursaries – 4 @ $250* Must demonstrate involvement in community/school.* Based on financial need.

14. Kamloops Thompson Principals & Vice Principals Award – 1 @ $500* Academic success and school involvement are required.* Recipient will be planning to pursue a career in Education.

15. Kamloops Thompson Teachers' Association Scholarship OR Bursary – 1 @ $500* One award available for each Secondary School in the KTTA region. * Scholarship Criteria: Outstanding academic achievement, personal recommendations.* Bursary Criteria: Reasonable academic achievement, financial need, personal recommendations.* Preference is given to the son/daughter of a KTTA member.* Please complete the Supplementary Form (page 15) for this award and submit with the NorKam application package.

16. Kay Bingham Elementary PAC Bursary – 1 @ $500* Must be a former Kay Bingham Elementary student.* Minimum 73% average over the first three terms.* Must have all “G” effort marks over the first three terms.* Must demonstrate good citizenship through school/community involvement.* Must demonstrate financial need.

17. Kyle Price Memorial Award – KF – 1 @ VARIES* Citizenship 80% / Academic 20%* The recipient will be recognized for his/her positive attitude and cheerful demeanor, who promotes care

and kindness toward others.

NorKam Grad Fund Award – KF – 1 @ VARIES* Student actively participates in fund raising and organizing of the graduation activities.* Student’s marks must be a B minimum.* Financial Need is a factor.* Student must have recommendation from the Vice-Principal overseeing graduation and a letter from the Parent

Graduation Committee.

19. NorKam Millennium Awards – 4 @ $500* 60% Academics / 40% Citizenship.

20. NorKam Music Society Award – KF – 1 @ VARIESSeparate application form (page 16 & 17) to be completed * Awarded to a NorKam band student.* Two categories available for consideration:

1) Student pursuing post-secondary studies in music. 2) NorKam music student pursuing other (non-music) post-secondary studies.

21. NorKam PAC Scholarship - academic focus - 4 @ $250* Student must be in good standing.* Highest marks in core subjects* Minimum 73% average.* 2 Dogwood students, 1 IB student, 1 Dogwood preference given to student in Trades & Technology.

22. NorKam PAC Bursary – 2 @ $250* Student must be in good standing.* Based on financial need (supply SASIF form).* Minimum 73% average in core subjects.* 1 Dogwood student, 1 IB student.

23. NorKam PAC Scholarship – fine arts – 1 @ $250* Student must be in good standing * Minimum 73% average.* Ability to demonstrate talent in chosen area.* Preference may be given to a student entering a Fine Arts program.

24. NorKam PAC Scholarship – First Nations – 1 @ $250* Student must be in good standing* Recipient will have First Nations Ancestry.* Plans to pursue post-secondary education.* Minimum 73% average in core courses grade 11/12

25. NorKam PAC Scholarship – physical education – 1 @ $250* Student must be in good standing.* Passion and promotion of physical health and well being.* Minimum 73% average.

26. NorKam PAC Scholarship – service/leadership – 2 @ $250 * Student must be in good standing.* Exceptional service to school and community.

27. NorKam PAC Scholarship – applied skills – 2 @ $250(Trades and Tech Ed., Home Ec., Business Ed., Hairdressing, Restaurant Training)* Student must be in good standing.* Home school is NorKam.* Minimum 73% average.* Has clearly demonstrated skill/ability in their subject area.* Cooperative student with a good positive attitude.* Preference may be given to a student pursuing post-secondary education in applied skill.

28. NorKam PAC Scholarship – work experience – 1 @ $250* Student must be in good standing.* Work Study/Work Experience Student.

29. NorKam Spirit of Youth Award PAC – Linda Sanderson – 1 @ $100 + plaque* Consistently achieved Academic/Effort Honour Roll in senior years.* Attended NorKam Secondary grades 10-12.* Intention to pursue post-secondary education.* Involved in school athletics (athlete or coach) and/or school leadership activities.* A good citizen (thinks of others before self).

33. Phyllis Bepple Memorial Award – 1 @ $200* Awarded by the North Shore Business Improvement Association.* Student should have completed four or more Business Education courses.* Above average achievement.* Actively participates in school activities.

34. Rayleigh Elementary School Award – 2 @ $500Two awards offered: one for an academic-oriented student and one for trades/technology-based* Must have attended Rayleigh Elementary from grades 4 through 7.* Must have involvement in community and school as a volunteer or for extracurricular activities.* Must be pursuing post-secondary education.* Student must be a resident in Rayleigh at the time of graduation.

35. Right Photography Ltd. Bursary – 2 @ $ VARIES* Student will demonstrate service to school community.* Financial need is a factor. * Hard working diligent individual.

36. Sam Seright – Young Artist Bursary – KF – 1 @ $ VARIES* Must be pursuing post-secondary studies in Fine Arts.* Excellent work ethic.* Student should have maintained an “A” average in their Art course(s).

37. Sharon Ann Kask Memorial Award – TRU F – 1 @ $ VARIES* Only FEMALE applicants.* Must be registered at TRU, and planning to pursue a career in Elementary Education .* Good academic standing (C+ average or higher).* Involved in school community as a volunteer, coach, tutor, etc.

38. T & H Auto Pro Scholarship NOTE: Additional Essay required – 1 @ $300 * Student must be nominated by the Automotive teacher at school. * The student is required to WRITE AN ESSAY outlining their career plan and why they are planning to be an

Automotive Service Technician. Essay must also indicate why they should be considered for the scholarship.* Student must indicate desire to continue working in automotive trade and must be enrolling in the AST1 class at TRU.
