M6: The Butterfly Cluster  

I chose this picture because it resembles a butterfly, and butterflies are one of my favorite animals and also because it’s very visible without any expensive equipment, but what interested

me the most was how nature can form animal like images. The butterfly cluster can be found towards the constellation of the scorpion. I thought that since it was composed mostly of young blue stars I expected that the brightest star would be blue but it is like an orange color. What is

interesting too is the age of the M6 is about 100 million years old.

Moonbow Beach  

The picture was extremely beautiful, it is interesting how the rainbow is formed by the reflection of the surface of the moon, and how it is only visible by photograph because the human eye

doesn’t have the capability to see this type of rainbow. One of the reasons I chose this picture it’s because it was showing a rainbow at early hours in the morning with the sun just rising. I always

thought that they needed sunlight in order to form a reflection so rainbows could be formed.

An Aurora Cupcake with a Milky Way Topping

I chose this picture because I found how interesting the auroras are formed in different colors under the Milky Way.

It’s interesting because I would think both of the auroras would be the same color since they are coming from the Sun

ejecting plasma clouds. I never knew that the sun ejected plasma clouds so it was something new that I learned.

Another interesting thing was how the aurora shape and the position of the milky was it seems like the nature would have

agreed with these two phenomena to form this picture.

Zodiacal Light before Dawn

It’s interesting how this light was formed when the sunrise was hours away from happening. The Zodiacal Light is also known as the “false dawn”. What is interesting is how this light is glowing like a watchtower. The California Nebula with reddish emission which is on the left bottom edge of the picture is glowing along the horizon behind the Zodiacal Light. Is interesting how the star Aldebaran and Pleiades are found in the zodiacal light. We can also see in the right bottom edge

of the picture the star Orion.

Milky Way above Atacama Salt Lagoon

This picture is interesting because it shows the Milky Way galaxy up in the sky and it’s surrounded by stars and planets and in the center that night it seems as if it would be a sun or

something like that and it’s also surrounded by other smaller stars. It seems brighter than the star Antares, when that star is one of the brightest stars in the galaxy. It was interesting too how

millions of stars are reflected in the water.

Aurora over Maine

This picture was taken in Acadia National Park, in Maine, USA. In this picture we can see the rays and sheets of multicolored auroras from pink, purple, yellow, and green. We can also notice

a lake that it seems to be dark-pink, this color relies because the pink and purple color of the aurora is up at the sky. The rays of the Aurora are of different colors and it’s interesting because it should be the same color since its being formed by the same thing. And how they are on top of

each other. What is scary about this is that if this happens too close to the earth it can cause

serious problems like power outages. If this happens it could hurt humanity since most of our appliances and things we use on daily basis are powered by light.

Aurora and Volcanic Light Pillar

The red glow is a reflection of a volcano eruption which makes it interesting because as I first saw the picture I thought it was the sunset. The shape of the cloud in the middle seems like at is overlapping each other. And the green aurora seems interesting because it’s on top of the clouds

which is something I have never seen before and it makes me wonder why this phenomenon happens. What is also interesting is that we can still see these light pillars even though the last eruption was a couple of hundred years ago , and I don’t know how the lights would look if a

volcano erupted anytime soon.

NGC 206 and the Star Clouds of Andromeda

I chose this picture because I found interesting how showing stars that goes from blue, red and orange color is and also the sizes of each star are very different from each other. But the most

interesting thing is how the brown dust is covering most of the red stars. In this picture it shows

different stars and by how much light they project we can determine how close or how far they are from the earth.

The Butterfly Nebula from Hubble

When I saw this picture I was astonished at how many weird things our galaxy can make. Not just the different shapes of animals and stuff but how beautiful it looks when it’s captured at the

right moment. It’s impressive how the surface is about 250,000 that’s very high. This picture shows how much our technology has advanced compared to a couple of hundred years ago, and

who knows what we might find in the future. What is also interesting is the color of the Butterfly Nebula, it looks like it was formed by clouds with different colors that are overlapping.

Mars, Antares, Moon and Saturn

What is the beautiful about this picture is that we can see a planet and a star at the same time when the sun is going down. What amazed me when I saw this picture was how bright they

looked and it made me think of the distance that we might have from each other and that if we will ever see them closer.

From the Temple of the Sun to the Temple of the Moon

In this picture it looks like a rainbow, but not the usual we are used to seeing after rain. This rainbow seems like it’s of stars. This arc is very interesting because its age is older than 160 million years, and that is impressive because it is a very long time. And I wonder how much

older they are compared to our planet or our solar system.

Eclipse at Moonset

What caught my attention in this picture is how the clouds are laid down on top of the Pacific Ocean and Chilean Coast Sea. What is interesting about this picture is how bright the moon

looks it seems like the sun when it's about to set. It's very interesting how our Moon has lunar

eclipses that are in progress each month. The moon has 2 different colors one very bright and one very dark , we can see on the moon that the bottom side looks like the

sun but the other half looks like the moon.

Auroral Corona over Norway

This picture looks extremely beautiful like if someone has painted it. I love the green and purple colors that this

aurora has, it's interesting how up in this sky and how close to the ground this aurora is located. The aurora's

rays look like when the Sun is giving off energy to Earth. I chose this picture because it’s very impressive how this aurora is giving off all these beautiful colors

which I think makes this picture unique.

Melotte 15 in the Heart

This picture it's just incredible, the dark blue color along with the dark dust clouds makes me wonder how this type of phenomena can even be real. It's very interesting how thousands of stars

are located inside the dark cloud. We can also see bright blue stars that are on the right side of the picture which are the cluster stars. It’s very impressive and hard to believe how all these kind

of things exist in our universe.

Galaxies in Pegasus

The interesting thing about this picture is how well we can see the galaxies. In the upper right side we can see the galaxy NGC7331 and on the lower left side we can see the Stephan's Quintet galaxy. All these galaxies are located in the constellation Pegasus. There is also stars that range

from different sizes and colors such as blue and orange. It’s very impressive how huge is the galaxy NGC7331 and how it has in the center a glowing light.

AR 2192: Giant on the Sun

The way that this picture shows the spots of the Sun it’s very interesting because as we all know when we see the Sun, we don’t see this kind of spots. Technology and people’s investigations

who work in the astrology field had helped mankind to have a better view of how the Sun truly looks. The tiny little yellow dots around the dark spots make me wonder what those things are.

This picture was taken while a partial solar eclipse was in progress.

Milky Way over Devils Tower

I chose this picture because I am amazed by how our Milky Way Galaxy is formed. It’s very interesting how the Milky Way looks in this picture because it seems that the dark dust that is covering the stars is getting out of it. The different types of colors that are glowing from the

Milky Way makes me wonder what makes them look this color. In this picture the Milky Way is above the Devils Tower rises.

The Day After Mars

I liked this picture because it reminded me of when I read this novel or a part of in in one of my other classes. Even though it was proven moments later that this was just fake or was just a novel. It made me think of how some

people would react if aliens really arrived on planet earth. From what I remember this made a ton of people very scared and there was a lot

of chaos around the planet.

In Green Company: Aurora over Norway

The shape of this aurora is very interesting because it seems like is forming a circle. What

is most interesting is how the rays of the aurora are facing the sky. Until now I had been seen that the rays of the auroras go down and not up. The green color glowing of the aurora makes the mountain look more beautiful and

also see clearly the man’s figure who is on top of the mountain. The green rays are very

strong that you can see the green reflection on the mountains, and we can see that even the white snow is looking to change colors.

Moon and Earth from Chang'e 5-T1

This is a very cool picture because it seems like both of the planets distance isn’t that much but in reality is millions of miles away. The moon looks bigger on this picture, but we all know that

Earth is more massive than the moon is. This is showing us how much our technology has advanced from just a 100 years and who know where we might be in the future. We might be

able to find other planets like ours.

Orion in Gas, Dust, and Stars

It’s interesting how Orion is formed, in this picture we can see star clusters and also dark nebulae. The red color of Orion seems like it’s burning in flames. We can also see in the left side

the famous three stars that make up the belt of Orion. We can also see in the upper right of the frame huge bright blue stars. I chose this picture because I found it very interesting and I really

liked all about this picture.

The Tulip Nebula

The Tulip Nebula is also known as glowing cloud, it’s composed of interstellar gas and dust. What makes more beautiful this nebula are its colors that are red, green, and blue. It’s interesting

how the Tulip Nebula has some black parts of dust which makes me think what produces this color. The small piece of blue color that is located almost in the middle of the picture makes the

Tulip Nebula unique.

LDN 988: Dark Nebula in Cygnus  

The interesting thing about this picture is how the majority of stars are an orange color. We can also see a great amount of red stars and some blue stars. The dark nebula is located in the center of this cosmic creation. I chose this picture because it was very interesting to know that this kind

of places exist in the universe.

Tornado and Rainbow Over Kansas  

I chose this picture because I found very interesting how the tornado is on top of the rainbow. In this picture it seems like the rainbow is blocking the passage of the tornado because it ends right

over the rainbow. The white tornado cloud has been formed by the dark storm cloud.

Portrait of NGC 281  

This picture interested me because of the blue stuff that is rounded by the dense dark dust. The NGC 281 is about 10,000 light years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. Its general form is just extraordinary, it’s interesting how a bright orange star is right in the middle of NGC 281 which

together with the blue stuff are much like an eye.

The Seahorse of the Large Magellanic Cloud  

The sky-blue color in this picture makes me think that this picture was taken in the sea. The dark thing toward the right that looks like a Seahorse is actually a pillar of smoky dust. We can also

see white stars some larger than others. What is interesting about this picture is how can be possible that the universe can create such as beautiful colors and animal shapes.
