Details of the WORKSHOP:
Preamble:Department of Automobile and Mechanical Engineering, CGPIT has organized two days
workshop on “Assembling and dismantling of I C engine” sponsored by Uka Tarsadia
University. Total 44 participants participated in this workshop, which includes faculties, Industry
delegates, research scholars and students from different colleges of Gujarat.
The inauguration ceremony of workshop was started by UTU song followed by lamp lighting
and prayer to seek the blessings of almighty. As per tradition of CGPIT, all the dignitaries were
given a warm welcome and were felicitated to express respect and gratitude towards them for
devoting their valuable time and gracing the workshop. The dignitaries that graced the
inauguration ceremony of workshop were Dr. C. K. Desai (Head Mech/Auto,) and other heads of
all the departments of CGPIT. Along with the dignitaries, the coordinators of the workshop also
felicitated experts.
Mr. Keyur patel gave a brief introduction about the workshop on which the workshop was
focused. He introduced the expert and expressed his views about the importance of workshop.
The Honourable HOD Dr. C.K. Desai gave the welcome speech. He motivated the students and
faculties for participating in technical events like short-term training program, workshop, expert
talk, etc. He also congratulated the Auto/Mech department for organizing such workshop. He
also appreciate the efforts made by Auto/Mech. department. He has also explained that why the
topic selected for the workshop is the most relevant topic by giving an example of present day
research and innovations in engines. He appreciated all the committee members of workshop for
their efforts and appreciated the participants for their presence.
Mr. Keyur patel gave the vote of thanks.
Session Detail:All the sessions were very interactive and laid a very good impact on the audience.
Session-1: Theory Session : Details about IC Engine, each and every component of engine with
significance of every part is explained with interactively.
Session-2: Design Algorithm : The design of engine parts i.e. stroke volume, swept volume,
connecting rod, piston etc. explained.
Session-3: Practical session on Assembling and dismantling of 2-stroke and 4-stroke
Engines : IC engine dismantling and assembling is shown practically to participants in 10-10
participants group.
Session-4: Practical session on Assembling and dismantling of 2-stroke and 4-stroke
Engines : IC engine assembling and dismantling is done by participants by themselves.
Session-5: Competition among students : Competition among students had been carried out.
Criteria of competition is which group can assemble the engine in minimum time and in a right
way.

Online feedback was collected from the participants in last session of the W/S. The overall feedback of the W/S was very positive. Here are some of the feedbacks, which were given by participants.
The course met its stated aims and objectives.
The material was presented in a clear and organized manner.
The event was scheduled at a suitable time.
The event facilities were appropriate and satisfactory.
The trainers were well prepared.
The trainer responded to questions in an informative, appropriate and satisfactory manner.
Overall, the sessions were informative and valuable.
