Can you go on a 3d Shape hunt around your home and garden to try and find some of these shapes? Tick each picture as you find the object with the matching shape. Language, Literacy and CommunicationQuestionnaire-Oracy-Yes/No gameAsk your grown up to think of a jungle animal but NOT to tell you what it is. You must guess their animal by asking questions about it. E.g. Does it have 4 legs? Your grown up can only answer yes or no. Swap and play a few rounds.

Knowledge & Understanding of the WorldThe animals in the story ‘We’re roaming in the rainforest’ are...parrots, monkeys, sloths, butterflies, crocodiles, frogs, leaf cutters, spiders, lizards, geckos, snakes, jaguars, and otters.

Look at the patterns and textures of some of the animals. Investigate and discuss what ‘camouflage’ means and how this helps animals.

For your challenge, your garden will become a rainforest! You will need to make a cardboard cutout of an animal from the story and

Mathematical DevelopmentR – use 3d shapes to make models and picturesUsing wooden or plastic blocks or lego use 3d shapes such as cubes and cuboid to make a model of your choice. How many cubes have you used? How many cuboids have you used?1 –Use 3d shapes to describe how they fit together Can you find cube, cuboid, cone and sphere shaped objects around your home and use them to make a model of your choice. Describe to an adult the shapes that you have used. Here is my castle. I have used cylinders, cuboids, spheres and a cube.

2 – make increasingly more complex or accurate models with 3d shapes
