Monday 15th June. Good morning! I hope you have a brilliant weekend! Here is your joke for today: Why did the cookie go to hospital? - Because he felt crummy.

Here are the answers for Fridays workbook:

Phonics: We will be revising phonics sounds for the next few weeks. We will start with Phase 3. This should be revision to most children.

Begin by revising all sounds on phonics play: https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/3/buried-treasure

Click on ‘Revise all phase 3’. Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQGObQTTR-g to revise the ai sound. Look at the pictures below and decide which pictures contain the ‘ai’ sound in them.

Maths starter: The next few days we will be completing the Maths No Problem workbook. All of this will be revision of chapters that we have covered (during home learning and at school). It would be good if children were as independent as possible, however, they will need help to read the questions. Please complete workbook pages: 153-156

Answers will be up tomorrow! Reading for pleasure. Literacy: Read the story, Sleeping Beauty by Ruth Merttens and Anne Holm Petersen (on the blog). Look at the twelve Sleeping Beauty story cards below. Cut out the cards and put the events from the story in the right order. Then use the cards to help you orally retell the story of Sleeping Beauty to someone. If you cannot print the cards off, then retell the story to someone in your house.

When she woke up after her sleep, Sleeping Beauty wanted to have a good party. Read the instructions below. Give suggestions for her party and then do a drawing of the party.

Spelling: Practise these spellings.

Project: science. Today you are going to be identifying and naming UK mammals. I would like you to look at the slides (on the blog) to learn all about the features of a mammal. It is important for children to recognise that

The ‘v’ sound at the end of words and common exception

words.English words hardly ever end

with the letter V. If a word ends with a ‘v’ sound, we usually need

to add an ‘e’.

not all mammals look the same, but they have some similar features. Once you have finished looking at the slides, I would like you to complete the sheet below. First, I would like you to name the animal that you see and then write down something that is similar or something different between the two animals.
