Lost Cousins – getting linked to relativesLost Cousins is a wonderful and helpful family history website devoted to keeping people informed and connecting ‘cousins’. It does the latter by comparing those found on your family 1881 censuses. To use this FREE resource follow these instructions:

Start by clicking on ‘My Ancestors’.Now click on ‘Getting Started’

Next you should READ what is on the page under “How to use this website”.

First you will need to register using your email address and creating a password. Once done you can click on ‘My Ancestors’ to start entering your ancestors in the manner the “How to use this website” describes.

You are asked to complete a form for each relative found on a given census. First you identify the census source.

Second you input their details.

Thirdly, you clarify the relationship or connection they have with you.

Further details can be added to this individual here before clicking on ‘Add’.

After you have added all you wish to you can click on ‘Search’ and the site will seek out others with any of the same individuals on their profile too. If any have been found they will appear on ‘My Cousins’ page which include a ‘Mail’ button for you to contact them should you wish to do so.
