Sauer BREEZE series: Industrial compressors in modular system
Kiel, 24.04.2017. Sauer Compressors presents the BREEZE WP323LM Basic air compressor. This three-stage air-cooled compressor generates a flow rate of 420 m³/h with a final pressure of 40 bar (g) and a power consumption of 90 kW. It is one of four medium pressure models from a newly developed compressor series for industrial applications. The BREEZE series is based on a flexible modular system consisting of several crankcases with three to five cylinders. Thanks to its nine cylinder/piston combinations, the series covers a wide output range and meets numerous customer requirements.
The air-cooled compressors from the new BREEZE series offer other innovations too, including the CubeCooler concept, which is being used for the first time. Block coolers arranged radially around the fan enable the recooling temperatures to be reduced by a third. A protective cover comes as standard and has an integrated gauge panel, ensuring outstanding usability with the highest safety standards. The protective cover covers the hot parts of the machine while still allowing easy access to the components relevant for maintenance. The industrial compressors from the BREEZE series are generally very low noise, robust and compact.
In addition to the BREEZE series of medium pressure compressors up to 40 bar (g) and high pressure compressors with final pressures up to 500 bar (g), the modular system also opens up the option of booster versions with inlet pressures of up to 16 bar (g) as well as special gas-tight designs for gases such as helium, natural gas and hydrogen.

The new Sauer ecc 4.0 compressor control
Kiel, 24.04.2017. Sauer Compressors is offering a new range of controls for fully automated monitoring and control of compressor functions. The first model is the Sauer ecc 4.0 – a control for universal use in all compressor series for applications in the naval, shipping, offshore and industrial fields The software has been completely developed by Sauer Compressors, which enables it to be adapted precisely to the relevant requirements. Certain features can be added and customised for specific projects.
The design of the Sauer ecc 4.0 follows an intelligent modular principle tailored to the compressor type and version. The modular system can be configured over various expansion levels - from the economical basic version through to complete monitoring of all measured values in the fully-featured version.
Ready for Industry 4.0
The Sauer ecc 4.0 can connect up to twelve compressors, communicating via all standard interfaces. In terms of Industry 4.0, the control can be integrated into higher-level systems.
Convenient operation
The new control is operated using a 7” colour touch screen display. The latest generation resistive touch screen display is extremely robust and can be operated wearing gloves. Users benefit from the user-friendly intuitive menu system and step-by-step instructions in 30 languages. All relevant parameters are visible at a glance, represented visually by pressure gauges and texts. In case of faults, the control provides detailed alarm and fault messages including remedial suggestions. A numerical keypad allows easy adjustment of values. Operator login is based on direct code entry.

Sauer Compressors enhances product range with oil-free and gas-tight HAUG compressors
Kiel, 24.04.2017. As part of its ongoing strategic development, Sauer Compressors Holding has acquired a 100 percent shareholding in HAUG Kompressoren AG. By integrating the Swiss company, Sauer Compressors has enhanced its already extensive portfolio with a broad range of oil-free and gas-tight piston compressors for compression of air and a variety of gases.
Following the takeover by J.P. SAUER & SOHN Maschinenbau Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (Sauer Compressors Holding), the company - which has been renamed HAUG Sauer Kompressoren AG - and all its sites are now part of the global Sauer Compressors Group. Sold under the HAUG brand name, the internationally renowned oil-free and gas-tight compressors meet even the most stringent requirements in terms of gas quality and considerably reduce operating costs.
The HAUG Sauer range is the perfect complement to the established product range of oil-lubricated compressors from Sauer. “By combining our expertise in compressor technology, both companies are benefiting from an enhanced range and a new presence in the market”, said Harald Schulz, Chief Executive of Sauer Compressors. “Our complete range and combined service know-how enable us to be even more responsive to individual customer requirements.”
With the enhanced product range, Sauer is opening up a variety of new markets and applications, including compression of special gases, oxygen and SF6 gas, and recompression of refrigerants such as C3F8, R10 or ammonia. When it comes to recovery and compression of carbon dioxide, users can also benefit from 120 years of experience in the manufacture of complete oil-free and hermetically gas-tight HAUG compressors.
Beat Frefel, the current Managing Director of HAUG Kompressoren AG, will continue in his role. He will be supported by co-director Franck Lallart, Directeur Général of the French Sauer subsidiary, Girodin-Sauer SAS. HAUG’s former headquarters in St. Gallen will be developed as a centre of expertise for oil-free technology within Sauer Compressors.
At ComVac 2017 during the Hanover Trade Fair, Sauer Compressors will be presenting its full product range - including compressor technologies from HAUG Sauer - for the first time (Hall 26, Stand B39).
