Hot Question 7: Write two of your own questions and ask someone at home to answer them. Remember, you need to know the answer too!

Friday 22 nd January LO: Can I use given data to create a pictogram?Think about yesterday’s lesson when we were looking at pictograms to try and answer questions about the information (data) in them.Today I would like you to create your own pictograms from information I will give you. Remember that you will need a key to tell me what each picture represents – this means how many items is each picture worth. In the example below, each fish picture is worth 2 fish. Looking at the table, the shop sold 14 portions of cod so on the pictogram there are 7 fish (7 X 2 = 14); the shop sold 12 haddock portions so the pictogram shows 6 pictures of fish (6 X 2 = 12) and so on.

Use a ruler and the squares in your Maths book to help you.

MildThe children in Year 3 voted for their favourite favour of ice-cream.
